2 packages (10 ounces each) Pepperidge Farm® Garlic Bread
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, diced (about 1/2 cup)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
1.5 cups Prego® Flavored with Meat Italian Sauce
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 400°F. Remove the bread from the bags. Carefully separate the bread halves with a fork. Place the bread halves, cut-side up, onto 2 baking sheets.Bake the bread for 10 minutes or until heated through. Cut each baked bread loaf into thirds. While the oven is heating, start the filling mixture. Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until tender. Add the garlic and cook and stir for 30 seconds. Add the beef and cook until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.Stir in the sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the beef is cooked through. Season to taste. Divide the beef mixture among the 6 bottom bread pieces. Top with the cheese and the remaining bread pieces.

1 1/2 lbs pork sausage
1 tablespoon fennel seed
3 tablespoons california chili powder
1 tablespoon new mexico chile powder
gray salt
fresh ground black pepper
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1/2 cup red wine
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes, crushed by hand
1 teaspoon dried oregano
beef broth or water, for thinning sauce
6 large soft hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together the sausage, fennel seed, chili powders, and salt and pepper, to taste.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat cook the sausage mixture until browned.
  • Remove it from the pan and set aside; drain off all but 1 tablespoon of the fat from the skillet.
  • Return the SKILLET to medium heat and add the onions and garlic.
  • Cook until the onions are soft, stirring often, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the red wine, then stir in the tomato paste, pureed tomatoes, and dried oregano.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and add the cooked sausage.
  • Turn the heat down and simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • If mixture is too thick, thin it with a little broth or water.

1/4 cup olive oil
1 lb. 100% grass fed ground beef
1/3 cup bacon
1 sprig of sage
Mixture of carrots, onion, and celery - chopped, approximately 1 cup
1 tablespoon freshly ground clove
Pinch of freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup dry red wine
3 tablespoons salt
1-2 cups of tomato puree
3 tablespoons butter
Toasted sesame buns
1 bunch broccolini - optional

Steps:

  • Add olive oil and bacon to a pre-heated medium-high heat skillet. Sauté for approximately 4 minutes. Add grass fed ground beef, break it apart, and cook for 5-10 minutes. Add 1 sprig of sage and the mixture of carrots, onion and celery. Sprinkle in the freshly ground clove and pepper. Stir and sauté for 5 more minutes or until vegetables are tender. Deglaze the pan with red wine. Add the salt and tomato puree, and then cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Once the flavors have joined together, grab a toasted sesame bun and top the bun with the beef and some sautéed broccolini (optional).
