Wedge Salad image

This wedge salad recipe is super simple to make and so yummy. Better than a restaurant! Made with bacon, cucumber tomato, homemade ranch.

1 head iceberg lettuce
3/4 cup ranch dressing (plus extra for serving)
1/2 cup cucumber (finely diced )
1 cup tomato (diced)
4 slices bacon (cooked and diced - I use more if slices are small)

Steps:

  • Core the lettuce by taking a small knife and tracing around the stem. The core will pop right out, as seen in the photos above.
  • Place the head of lettuce, core side down, on a cutting board. Cut into for equal parts by using your knife to make a giant + sign.
  • Place each wedge on a salad plate, and drizzle with about 3 Tablespoons of ranch dressing.
  • Sprinkle on the cucumber, tomatoes and bacon.
  • Serve immediately.

4 slices thick-cut bacon
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 clove garlic, pressed
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar or Cheddar-Jack

Steps:

  • In a medium skillet, fry the bacon slices until slightly crisp. Drain on paper towels and set aside to cool.
  • In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream and garlic. Add the vinegar, Worcestershire, salt, pepper and cayenne and whisk until the mixture is totally smooth.
  • Chop up the bacon into pieces. Cut the iceberg in half right through the middle, then cut the halves into wedges.
  • Spoon a good amount of the dressing over each wedge so that it drips down the sides, then sprinkle on the cheese and bacon.

4 slices thick-cut bacon
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar or cheddar-jack cheese

Steps:

  • Fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until slightly crisp, 12 to 15 minutes. Drain on paper towels; set aside to cool.
  • Combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream and garlic in a large bowl. Add the vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and the cayenne and whisk until the mixture is smooth.
  • Chop the bacon into pieces. Cut the iceberg head in half, then cut each half into 2 wedges. Spoon dressing over each wedge so it drips down the sides, then sprinkle with the cheese and bacon.

1 (12 ounce) package uncooked tri-color rotini pasta
10 slices bacon
1 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons dry ranch salad dressing mix
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon garlic pepper
½ cup milk, or as needed
1 large tomato, chopped
1 (4.25 ounce) can sliced black olives
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil; cook rotini at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 minutes; drain.
  • Place bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook until evenly brown. Drain and chop.
  • In a large bowl, mix mayonnaise, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, and garlic pepper. Stir in milk until smooth. Place rotini, bacon, tomato, black olives and cheese in bowl and toss to coat with dressing. Cover and chill at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. Toss with additional milk if the salad seems a little dry.

1/4 cup chopped parsley
3 tablespoons buttermilk
2 tablespoons chopped dill
2 tablespoons chopped chives
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 head iceberg lettuce, cut into 6 wedges

Steps:

  • In a medium skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Let drain on paper towels, reserving drippings in skillet. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, next 6 ingredients, and reserved bacon drippings. Drizzle mayonnaise mixture over lettuce wedges, and sprinkle with bacon. Serve immediately.
