Easy Oven Baked Beans and Pork Chops image

This is an easy but really tasty pork chop dish --- purchase the thicker size pork chops or you may use 2-3 larger pork steaks, the thinner chops tend to fall apart when baked as they bake too fast, if desired you can top with shredded cheddar cheese the last 15 minutes of baking, also chopped fresh garlic may be added also to the bean mixture -- this may also be cooked in a crockpot, just brown the chops firstly in a skillet.

8 pork chops
salt and pepper (I use seasoned salt)
garlic powder (optional)
1 (3 lb) can pork and beans
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
1/4-1/3 cup store-bought barbecue sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional or to taste, adjust amount to suit heat level)

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Brown the chops in a frypan on both sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder (if using); set aside.
  • Grease an Dutch oven or a oven-proof casserole dish (large enough to hold the ingredients).
  • In a bowl mix together the pork and beans, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, BBQ sauce, ketchup, brown sugar and cayenne pepper (if using).
  • Layer HALF of the bean mixture on the bottom of Dutch oven.
  • Lay the pork chops on top of the bean mixture.
  • Top with remaining bean mixture.
  • Bake covered or uncovered for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the chops are tender (if you prefer a thicker sauce then bake covered for half the time then finish baking uncovered).
  • DELICIOUS.

4 thick cut pork chops
Salt & pepper
1 Tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
1 Medium onion, diced (chopped)
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
16 oz canned baked beans
1 - 2 Tablespoons sliced butter
oil - enough to fry four pork chops in (for frying)
6 slices uncooked bacon, diced

Steps:

  • Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
  • 1. Salt and pepper the pork chops. Cook the pork chops in a frying pan until nice and golden brown on the outside. Remove the pork chops from the pan to a plate.
  • 2. In a medium bowl combine the diced onion,1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, one 16 ounce can baked beans, brown sugar if ( using it ) and the diced bacon strips. Stir the mixture to combine the ingredients. Place the pork chops in a 13x9 inch baking pan. Pour the baked beans over the chops evenly, dot the pork chops randomly with butter. Cover the pan with foil, bake for one hour in a preheated 350 degree oven.

1 pound dried red beans
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon dry crab boil
¼ teaspoon celery salt
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 smoked ham hock
salt and pepper to taste
4 (4 ounce) boneless pork chops

Steps:

  • Place the red beans into a large container and cover with several inches of cool water; let stand 8 hours to overnight. Alternately, you could bring the beans and water to a boil in a large pot over high heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover, and let stand 1 hour. Drain and rinse before using.
  • Place the soaked beans into a large pot, and cover with 1/2 inch of water. Stir in the onion, garlic, bay leaf, crab boil, celery salt, and red pepper flakes. Nestle the smoked ham hock deep into the beans. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the beans are mostly tender, about 1 hour.
  • Uncover the beans, remove the ham hock, and stir well. Add the tomatoes, if using. Place the pork chops into the pot and cover with beans. Increase the heat to medium, and simmer until the pork chops are no longer pink in the center, the beans are completely tender, and the mixture has thickened a bit, about 20 minutes.
  • While the pork chops are cooking, remove the meat from the ham hock and shred into bite sized pieces. Stir the ham hock meat into the beans and season with salt and pepper before serving.

  • Heat oven to 350. Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper then sear in a hot non-stick pan. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray. Place seared pork chops in the baking dish.Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the pork chops. Bake for 1 hour uncovered. Beans will be very hot. Let set for about 10 minutes before serving.

28 ounces vegetarian baked beans (I like Bush's brand)
1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup mustard (either dijon or yellow according to taste)
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed (optional)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce (or more)
4 pork chops, boneless and about 1 inch thick

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and combine all ingredients, except the pork chops, in a 9x9 baking dish. Mix well. You may drain off some of the juice from the beans, but I like it. Lay the pork chops on top, turning once to cover the chops with the juice from the beans. Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes until the beans are bubbly and the pork chops are done.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour five 16 ounce cans OR two 8 x 4 inch loaf pans.
  • In a large bowl, mix sugar, oil, eggs, and beans until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and soda. Add to bean mixture, stirring just until combined. Stir in raisins and vanilla. Fill cans 2/3 full with batter, or divide batter into prepared loaf pans.
  • Place cans or pans on a baking sheet. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a tester inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks before removing bread from cans or pans.

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1/2 c catsup
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 c mustard
1 c brown sugar
4 pork chops

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare a 9x13 pan with non-stick spray. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Chop onion. In medium size bowl place pork & beans, onion, worcestershire sauce, catsup, mustard, and brown sugar, mix well.
  • 2. Pour mixture into the pan and place your pork chops on top of bean mixture. I turn them over one time before placing in the oven, so the have a slight coating of the bean mixture liquid.
  • 3. Bake for one hour. Enjoy!
