Ingredients

1 teaspoon sugar
Coarse salt
5 medium basil leaves
2 ounces Lillet Blanc
1 ounce vodka
2 tablespoons Simple Syrup for Basil Lillet Slush
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 cup ice cubes
Garnish: basil sprig

Steps:

Mix together sugar and 1 teaspoon salt on a small plate or saucer. Wet the outside rim of a chilled wineglass with water. Holding glass by the stem, rotate rim in sugar-salt mixture to coat.
Puree basil leaves, Lillet Blanc, vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice, and ice in a blender until smooth. Pour into prepared glass, and garnish with basil sprig.

1 cinnamon stick, for garnish

Steps:

Put ice, Lillet, gin, orange juice, and basil in a cocktail shaker; shake well. Fill a glass with ice; strain mixture into glass. Add tonic water. Garnish with cucumber spear, cinnamon stick, and basil sprigs.

2 cups sugar
3 cups chopped peeled fresh peaches (about 3 medium) or 1 pound frozen unsweetened sliced peaches
1 package (3/4 ounce) fresh basil leaves or 20 large leaves
4 cups water
1-1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
5 to 8 cups ice cubes
Peach slices and additional fresh basil leaves

Steps:

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, peaches, basil and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat; let stand 30 minutes. Discard basil; stir in lemon juice. Refrigerate until cooled completely., Process half the peach mixture and 2-1/2 cups ice in a blender until blended, adding more ice if desired. Repeat with remaining peach mixture and ice. Pour into chilled glasses; serve with peach slices and additional basil.
