I have not tried this recipe but posted it in answer to a request - sounds great. The recipe was a high scorer in a BBQ Rub competition

1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup seasoning salt
1/4 cup onion powder
1/4 cup paprika
2 tablespoons pepper
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon tarragon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon allspice

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients in a resealable large zip lock bag, seal it.
  • Shake and tumble the mixture until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  • Make sure that the tarragon& thyme are finely crushed before mixing in.

1 cup ground mustard
1 cup paprika
1 cup salt
1/2 cup chili powder
1/2 cup ground cumin
1/2 cup ground black pepper
1/4 cup cayenne pepper
1/4 cup granulated garlic

Steps:

  • Combine the ground mustard, paprika, salt, chili powder, cumin, black pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic in a large mixing bowl and mix until well blended.

"I've been making this barbecue sauce for 20 years and get requests for the recipe every summer. I'm always happy to share it."

Number Of Ingredients 19

2 cans (15 ounces each) apricot halves, drained
4 cups packed brown sugar
4 cups cider vinegar
1 can (29 ounces) tomato sauce
2 cups ketchup
1 cup maple syrup
1 cup prepared mustard
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons salt
1/2 cup molasses
3 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
2 to 4 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon pepper
2 tablespoons Liquid Smoke, optional

Steps:

  • In a blender, puree the apricots until smooth. Pour into a large Dutch oven; add the next 17 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour or until flavors are blended, stirring occasionally. , Stir in Liquid smoke if desired. Cool. Store in the refrigerator.
