Steps:
- Combine the flour, cumin, chile powder, garlic powder, paprika, pepper and salt in a shallow bowl.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet.
- When it is very hot, dredge the okra in the flour mixture, shake off any excess then dip into egg then flour again and fry in the oil in batches until light-brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Season with salt.
- Serve with Remoulade Sauce recipe#87124.

Steps:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute the onion and garlic until limp. Add the green pepper; cook and stir until tender. Drain the tomatoes, reserving juice, and pour them into the skillet. Season with thyme, parsley, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat.
- Add the frozen okra, and pour in enough of the reserved juice from the tomatoes to cover the bottom of the pan. Cover, and cook for 15 minutes, or until okra is tender.

- Pat okra dry with paper towels. Place buttermilk in a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, seasoning blend and pepper. Dip okra in buttermilk, then roll in cornmeal mixture., In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat 1 in. of oil to 375°. Fry okra, a few pieces at a time, for 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Season with additional salt and pepper if desired.

I saw Paula Deen make this on her show the other day... I just had to try it for supper that night and it was wonderful... Me and my kids love fried okra and this recipe just made us love it that much more.... Hope you enjoy it...I didn't make the chili sauce that went with it.... But, I'm adding that on here as well....

- OKRA-Heat oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet or Dutch oven to 350 degrees F. (You may not need to use this much oil; do not fill the pan more than halfway up the sides with oil.).
- In a medium bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, House Seasoning, and Cajun spice.
- Dip okra in buttermilk and then dredge in cornmeal-flour mixture to coat well.
- Carefully add okra to the hot oil and cook until golden brown. (It may be necessary to fry the okra in batches.).
- Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and then serve immediately.
- CHILI SAUCE-In a small bowl, combine all ingredients, stirring well. Cover and chill.
- HOUSE SEASONING-Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
