1 pound dark chocolate chips
½ cup butter
4 eggs
1 dash vanilla extract
3 ripe bananas, or more to taste
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon baking powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a deep baking pan.
  • Melt chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler over simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching.
  • Mix eggs and vanilla extract together in a large bowl; mash bananas into egg mixture until well mixed.
  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  • Mix chocolate mixture into the banana mixture; add flour mixture and stir until smooth. Pour mixture into the greased baking pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven until top is dry and edges have started to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 60 minutes.

2/3 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts, divided

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth. Combine dry ingredients; stir into batter. Fold in half of nuts. , Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until brownies pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool on wire rack. Cut into squares.

3 tablespoons baking cocoa
2 large eggs, lightly beaten

1 cup mashed ripe bananas (2-1/2 to 3 medium)

6 Tablespoons butter
¾ cup milk chocolate chips
2 teaspoons vanilla
1½ cups mashed ripe bananas ((about 3))
½ cup granulated sugar
3 eggs (beaten)
1¾ cups all purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Spray a 9 x 9 inch pan with cooking spray, set aside
  • In a medium sauce pan, combine butter and chocolate chips. Over medium-low heat, melt together, stirring occasionally. When melted, set aside to cool.
  • In a large bowl combine the mashed bananas, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix Well.
  • Stir in flour and salt until just combined.
  • Pour all but 1/4 cup melted chocolate into the banana mixture and stir.
  • Pour the batter into your prepared pan and drizzle remaining 1/4 cup melted chocolate on top, and swirl it into the batter.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes until the center is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Brownies will be very dense.
  • Cool completely and cut into squares

  • Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Lightly grease (or line with baking parchment), a shallow 19cm/7 1/2in square cake tin. Melt the plain chocolate in a heatproof bowl over hot water.
  • Beat the oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla essence together in a large bowl.
  • Stir in the melted chocolate, then beat well, until evenly mixed.
  • Sift the flour and cocoa powder into the bowl and fold in thoroughly.
  • Stir in the chopped nuts. Tip into the prepared tin and spread evenly to the edges.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is firm and crusty. Cool in the tin before cutting into squares.
