18 whole graham crackers, divided into two sets of 9
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 container (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided (4 cups/1 L)
1 package (3.4 ounces) banana cream or vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
1 cup milk
1 lemon
4 large bananas

Steps:

  • Finely chop half of a graham cracker using food chopper. Set aside. Coarsely crumble remaining crackers into a small mixing bowl. For ganache, place chocolate morsels and 1 1/2 cups of the whipped topping into a small bowl. Microwave on HIGH 45-60 seconds or until melted and smooth, stirring every 15 seconds. Combine pudding mix and milk in large mixing bowl. Whisk until mixture begins to thicken. Fold in remaining whipped topping using a spatula. Juice lemon using and measure out 2 tbsp juice. Peel bananas and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces. Slice pieces into medium mixing bowl using. Add lemon juice and toss gently. Set aside 12 slices for garnish. To assemble trifle, place half of the crumbled graham crackers over bottom of trifle bowl. Place half of the bananas over the crackers and top with one-third of the ganache. Spread half of the banana filling over ganache, spreading to edges. Repeat layers one at a time. Decorate with remaining ganache. Sprinkle top of trifle with chopped graham cracker. Arrange reserved banana slices around edges of trifle. To get a good visual of the ganache layers, spoon ganache into resealable plastic food storage bag; secure with Twixit! Clip. Trim corner of bag to allow ganache to flow through. Pipe around the inside edges of the bowl, then drizzle remaining ganache over the bananas.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  • Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 2 tablespoons sugar together in a small bowl. Press 1 tablespoon of the crumb mixture into the bottom of each prepared cup.
  • Measure 1/2 cup chocolate chips and set aside for topping. Evenly distribute the remaining chips among the cups, sprinkling them over the crust layer.

Quick and easy candy dish! Using saltine crackers believe it or not! We went to a party and this was a dish to pass -- that disappeared first! (If you like Heath bars, you'll love this recipe!)

1 (16 ounce) package saltine crackers
1/2 cup butter (cannot use margarine)
1 cup sugar
12 ounces chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Line a baking pan with aluminum foil.
  • Lay the saltine crackers in the pan (single layer), you may not use the whole pkg depending on the size of the pan.
  • Sometimes I have 3-6 crackers left over.
  • In a saucepan melt the butter and sugar together.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • When comes to a boil, pour over the crackers.
  • Put cracker pan in oven and bake for 10 minutes (DO NOT OVER BAKE-- EXACTLY 10 MIN).
  • It will caramelize a little.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
  • When the chips begin to melt spread to the edges of the pan.
  • Cool completely.
  • When completely cool break randomly into small pieces (about 1 inch works well).
  • This recipe is so easy and quick!
  • At our house it rarely lasts more than a day--our kids and their friends beg us to make it when they come over too!

1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
¼ cup chopped pecans
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream
½ cup white sugar
2 large bananas, sliced
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
½ cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Knead together the pie dough and the 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans. Line 9-inch pie pan with the pecan dough; fill with heavy-duty foil and dried beans or pie weights. Bake for 20 minutes or until set and lightly browned (see Editor's Note). Let cool.
  • Beat cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth, and spread in the pie shell.
  • Prepare chocolate pudding according to package instructions, but use 1/2 cup less milk. Set aside.
  • Whip the cream with 1/2 cup sugar. Spread half of the whipped cream over the cream cheese in the shell. Lay sliced bananas on top of the whipped cream, and cover with the chocolate pie filling. Spread the other half of the whipped cream over the bananas. Sprinkle with chopped pecans, and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight before serving.

½ cup chopped peanuts

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  • Mix graham cracker crumbs, butter, and brown sugar together in a bowl. Spoon evenly into the prepared muffin cups and press to flatten.
  • Beat cream cheese in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Mix in white sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Mix in milk, then eggs, one at a time; mix until smooth. Transfer 1/2 of the batter to a separate bowl.
  • Add peanut butter to one bowl of the cream cheese mixture; beat until well blended. Divide mixture among the muffin cups.
  • Add melted chocolate chips to the remaining cream cheese mixture and beat until creamy and smooth. Pour into the muffin cups and sprinkle chopped peanuts over top.
