1 cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups boiling water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F ( 175 degrees C).
  • In ungreased 9 inch square pan, stir together flour, white sugar, cocoa, the baking powder, and salt. Mix in milk, oil, and vanilla with a fork until smooth.
  • Spread batter evenly in pan (batter will be thick). Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Pour boiling water over batter.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes, then spoon into dessert dishes or cut into squares. Invert each square onto dessert plate and spoon sauce over each serving. Top with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.

2 cups milk
1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a large saucepan combine the non-instant pudding mix with 2 cups milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the pudding is thickened. Remove from heat. Pour the dry cake mix into the saucepan and mix until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

2 pkg. (3.9 oz. each) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups cold milk
1-1/4 cups water
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Prepare cake batter as directed on package. Pour into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Beat dry pudding mixes, sugar, milk and water with whisk 2 min.; pour over batter. Place baking dish on baking sheet.
  • Bake 55 min. to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center of cake layer comes out clean. Cool 20 min. (Sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.)
  • Serve topped with COOL WHIP.

1 box yellow cake mix
4 c cold milk
1 large box jell-o chocolate flavor instant pudding

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare and bake cake mix as directed on package for 13 X 9-inch baking pan. Remove from oven. Immediately poke holes down through cake to pan at 1-inch intervals with round handle of or poke holes with a plastic drinking straw, using turning motion to make large holes.
  • 2. Pour milk into large bowl. Add pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk for 2 minutes. Quickly pour about 1/2 of the thin pudding mixture evenly over warm cake and into holes. Let remaining pudding mixture stand to thicken slightly. Spoon over top of cake, swirling to frost cake.
  • 3. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until read to serve.

1/2 cup Bisquick
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking cocoa
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or can use peppermint extract)
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon baking cocoa
1/2 cup boiling water
ice cream (optional) or whipped topping (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • In a small bowl, mix together baking mix, white sugar, and cocoa.
  • Stir in milk and vanilla (batter will be stiff).
  • Divide batter between two greased 8 to 10 inch custard cups.
  • For topping, combine brown sugar and cocoa in a separate bowl. Stir in boiling water and divide evenly over batter.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • If desired, top with ice cream and dust with extra baking cocoa.

1 dash salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa
3 1/2 tablespoons milk

1/4 cup hot water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine first 5 ingredients.
  • Stir in milk, butter, vanilla.
  • Pour into a 1 quart baking dish.
  • Combine 1 Tbsp sugar and 1 1/2 tsp cocoa. Sprinkle over cake batter.
  • Pour 1/4 cup hot water over sugar/cocoa mixture.

This easy chocolate pudding cake recipe combines two desserts in one - rich chocolate cake and decadent chocolate fudge pudding.

1 cup all purpose flour or gluten free flour blend
1 3/4 cup sugar (divided)
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (divided)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter, softened
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1 cup hot water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a square 8 inch pan.
  • For the chocolate cake: Sift together flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt. In a medium bowl, combine butter, milk, vanilla and chopped nuts. Mix dry sifted dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Beat two minutes and pour into prepared pan.
  • For the chocolate pudding layer: Blend together 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Stir in hot water and whisk until well blended. Pour gently over top of cake batter.
  • Bake chocolate pudding cake for 35 minutes, until most of cake looks firm and pudding bubbles around edges. Cool a few minutes to allow pudding to thicken. Serve while still warm for "hot fudge" pudding cake, or enjoy at room temp or chilled chocolate pudding cake. Leftovers, if you have any, are best stored in the refrigerator and eaten within a couple of days.
