Steps:
- Combine cereals, pretzels and nuts. In a small saucepan, melt butter; stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; toss to coat. Spread in an ungreased 15x10-in. rimmed pan. Bake at 250° 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Store in an airtight container.

CHRISTMAS DOUGHNUTS
Making these doughnuts has long been a custom in my French Canadian family. I remember helping with these tender treats as a child and eating the "holes" with my sister and brother. I loved their hint of lemon flavor! Carrying on the tradition, my husband, children and I have made these yummy doughnuts every Christmas for many years.-Michelle Vander Byl, Portland, Ontario

- In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar and oil until blended. Beat in extract. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; stir into egg mixture alternately with milk. Cover and refrigerate overnight., Divide dough in half. Roll out one portion to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 1-1/2-in. round cookie cutter. Repeat with remaining dough. , In an electric skillet or deep-fryer, heat oil to 375°. Fry doughnuts for about 4 minutes or until golden brown, turning once with a slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired.

CHRISTMAS NUTS
My grandma used to make these for us every Christmas. Now I bring them to Christmas on all the other sides of the family. It always ends up with people fighting over the last handful. And it doesn't take very long either. These little suckers are addicting!

Steps:
- Mix sugar, cinnamon and salt together.
- Set aside.
- Beat water and egg white together until frothy.
- Coat nuts in egg mixture.
- Add sugar mixture to nuts.
- Mix well.
- Spread on large greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 225 degrees F for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes.

HOLIDAY SPICED NUTS
This is a double batch, 3 cups to serve, 3 cups to gift-away. Buy nuts from bulk bins in market ? they are better priced than nuts on baking aisle.

- Heat a large skillet and cook nuts over moderate heat 7 to 8 minutes until golden and well toasted ¿ your nose will know when they are done. Transfer nuts to a plate and return pan to stove top. Add butter to the pan in small pieces. Melt butter and spice it with anise, cinnamon, pepper and nutmeg. Let butter infuse a minute then pour over nuts. Turn off heat. Add smoked nuts to the skillet and turn to combine evenly with butter.

- Heat oven to 140C/120C fan/gas 1. Mix the oil with the spices, then stir in the nuts and drizzle over half the honey. Spread over a baking sheet and cook for 10 mins.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle over the remaining honey, then return to the oven and cook for a further 10 mins. Allow to cool completely.

CHRISTMAS NUT CAKE
This nut loaf is all nuts. I have never met anyone who didn't like it - except for a few nuts!

- Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C). Line two 5x9 inch loaf pans with greased parchment paper.
- Combine the almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, pecans, dates, red and green cherries; mix well.
- Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine with nut mixture and mix well.
- Beat eggs and vanilla, add to nut and flour mixture and mix well.
- Press into 2 lined loaf pans and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Set aside for 5 minutes and remove from pans. Completely cool on wire rack.

CANDIED CHRISTMAS NUTS
I made these during the holiday season last year but used pecans instead of walnuts. They were excellent. I believe you could play around with what ever type of nuts easily available to you.

- Combine the sugar, milk, and margarine in a heavy saucepan, bring to a soft-ball stage on medium heat.
- Add vanilla flavoring and salt, removed from heat, mix until creamy.
- Add walnuts to mixture and stir until walnuts are well coated.
- Spread on foil and seperate.
- Cool before serving.
