Cinnamon And Pear Oatmeal Recipe

  1. oatmeal
  2. pear juice
  3. bartlett pear
  4. ground cinnamon
  5. salt
  6. raisins
  7. low-fat vanilla yogurt


  1. in a cast iron skillet on medium-high heat dry roast the oatmeal and cinnamon for approximately 4-5 mintes
  2. do not burn
  3. remove pan from heat
  4. in a saucepan combine the pear nectar with 3 / 4 cup water
  5. cook slowly over medium heat just until bubbles appear around the edges
  6. do not boil
  7. add the toasted oats , the grated pear , and salt
  8. cook mixture stirring constantly , until the oats are tender
  9. about 10-12 minutes
  10. stir in the raisins just before serving
  11. top each serving with a dollop of yogurt
