These are the best pancakes that we've ever tried. It was originally just a pancake recipe passed down from my mother which we have enjoyed for a number of years. The only change we have made was adding cinnamon. We love to eat them hot with butter melting over them and smothered in Aunt Jamima's pancake syrup. Awesome for Saturday morning breakfast. And it only takes about 15 minutes! Fry up some bacon or Breakfast sausage to make it even better.

3 cups flour
6 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk
6 tablespoons melted margarine

Steps:

  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Add melted margerine, eggs, and milk. Mix only till smooth.
  • Use about 1/4 of a cup of pancake batter per hot cake. Have the temperature on your stove top set to 5 or 6. Flip hot cakes when they start to bubble a bit.

1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
4-1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
1-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 eggs
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Additional cinnamon
Maple syrup

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder and cinnamon. Combine eggs, milk and butter; stir into dry ingredients just until combined. , Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a lightly greased hot griddle. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Turn when bubbles form on top of pancakes. Cook until second side is golden brown. Serve with syrup.

500 milliliters egg whites
800 grams granulated sugar
900 grams unsalted butter, room temperature
250 grams white chocolate, melted and cooled
250 grams dark chocolate, melted and cooled
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons sweet ancho chile pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine the egg whites and sugar in a stand mixer bowl and whisk to combine. Place bowl over simmering water while whisking regularly until the mixture reaches 140 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer and the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove bowl from heat and whip the mixture at medium to high speed until the meringue has cooled almost completely.
  • Slowly add the room temperature butter piece by piece until the buttercream takes on a cottage cheese consistency. Add the melted cooled chocolates, spices, and vanilla until incorporated and smooth.
  • Cream the butter in a stand mixer until smooth and light. Add sugar and continue to mix until fully incorporated and fluffy.
  • Add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition. In a medium bowl sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine milk and vanilla. Add portions of the flour mixture and milk mixture to the electric mixer, alternating, starting and ending with flour. Pour evenly into 2 buttered and floured 9-inch cake pans.
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until golden - cake should pull away from the side and spring back to the touch.
  • Frost cake and decorate as desired.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¾ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup shortening
1 ⅓ cups white sugar
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
3 eggs
⅔ cup milk
½ cup white sugar
6 tablespoons butter
⅓ cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and lightly flour a 10 inch Bundt pan. Stir together the flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat shortening, 1 1/3 cups white sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating for at least 1 minute after each egg. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack. Remove cake from pan while it is still warm, and poke holes around the top of the cake with a fork. Pour the warm cinnamon syrup into the holes and onto the top and sides of the cake.
  • To Make Cinnamon Syrup: In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup white sugar, butter, water, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Heat and stir until butter melts.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325°F. In large bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy. Add flour, walnuts, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and salt; mix well.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
1 cup warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 large eggs, room temperature, lightly beaten
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3-1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
FILLING:
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
ICING:
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 to 6 tablespoons 2% milk

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. In a large bowl, combine milk, 1/2 cup butter, eggs, sugar, salt and 2 cups of flour; beat on medium speed until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl; turn once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch dough down; let rest for 10 minutes. Divide in half. On a floured surface, roll each portion into a 15x10-in. rectangle. Brush with butter. Combine remaining filling ingredients; sprinkle over each rectangle to within 1/2 in. of edges. , Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seams to seal.
