Circus Burgers With Lean Ground Beef And Chia Seeds Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. chia seeds
  2. water
  3. onion
  4. garlic
  5. olive oil
  6. lean ground beef
  7. carrot
  8. cilantro
  9. flat leaf parsley
  10. essence seasoning
  11. sea salt

Steps:

  1. combine chia seeds and 1 / 2 cup water
  2. stir constantly , for 1 / 2 - 1 minute
  3. the seeds will quickly form a gelatinous coating , which will absorb the water
  4. let the seeds set , to thicken
  5. after about 15 minutes , you will have a thick mixture , that can be added to the meat mixture , when it is ready to mix
  6. this will help bind it all together , and add moisture
  7. chia seeds do not have any flavor , of their own
  8. they add moisture , fiber and oodles of nutritional value to your food
  9. in fry pan , add chopped onion and oil
  10. mix well , to cover onion with oil
  11. spread onion evenly in pan
  12. add 1 tablespoon water and cover with tight fitting lid
  13. heat over medium heat , until water bubble
  14. turn heat to low and simmer for five minutes , or until onion is translucent
  15. remove lid , and increase heat to medium low
  16. stir gently , until the onion starts to caramelize
  17. at this point add minced garlic , and stir , for another minute
  18. remove from heat , and cover , until the remainder of mixture is complete
  19. in medium mixing bowl , add ground meat , grated carrots , caramelized onion / garlic mixture , chia seeds , and seasonings
  20. combine well , with hands , or large spoon
  21. form into 3-1 / 2 to 4 inch patties , that are about 1 / 2 inch thick
  22. these can be immediately cooked , on the grill , for approx 3 minutes per side , depending on how well you like them cooked
  23. or
  24. place on cookie sheet and place in freezer
  25. the patties should be frozen through in about an hour or less
  26. we have found that it is easier to get a nicely cooked outside and still have a slightly pink center , when we cook them from frozen
  27. this takes a little less than 4 minutes on the first side , and three minutes on the second side
  28. the final result will be determined by your grill , so watch them closely the first time you cook them
