Clam Chowder Pie Recipe

  1. potatoes
  2. onion
  3. minced clams
  4. butter
  5. parsley
  6. flour
  7. salt
  8. pepper
  9. milk
  10. pie crust


  1. cook potato and onion in 1 cup water till tender
  2. drain
  3. drain clams , reserving 1 / 2 cup liquid
  4. in saucepan milt butter
  5. stir in parsley , flour , salt , and dash of pepper
  6. add reserved clam liquid and milk all at once
  7. cook and stir till thickened and bubbly
  8. stir in cooked potato mixture and clams
  9. turn into a 9-inch pie plate
  10. prepare plain pastry shell
  11. roll out to a 10-inch circle
  12. place atop filling
  13. turn edges under and flute
  14. cut slits for escape of steam
  15. bake , uncovered , at 425 for 25 to 30 minutes
  16. let stand 5 minutes before serving
