Beyond the creamy, silky-smooth sauce and unmatchable flavour, its simplicity is what makes Campbell's Green Bean Casserole so appealing. Just six ingredients and 10 minutes to put together, this family-pleasing side has been a favourite for over 60 years. Not only that, it's easy to make ahead!

1 can CAMPBELL'S® Condensed Cream of Cremini & Shiitake Mushroom
1/2 cup 125 mL milk
1 tsp 5 mL soy sauce
1 dash black pepper
4 cups 1 L cooked green beans
1 1/3 cups 330 mL French's® French Fried Onions

Steps:

  • Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and 2/3 cup of the onions in an 8-inch (1.5 qt) casserole.
  • Bake at 350°F (180°C). for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining onions.
  • Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.

This is an extremely easy recipe for the cooks-on-the-go. I got this recipe from the back of the cans of Del Monte Cut Green Beans. I can easily fix this recipe in a hurry and on a budget and my DH LOVES it. You cannot go wrong with this one... Cheese might even help - you know I add cheese to everything - that is why I am "CheesyGal."

1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans french-style green beans or 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans cut green beans, drained
1 (2 7/8 ounce) can French-fried onions

Steps:

  • Combine soup, milk, and pepper in a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish; mix well.
  • Stir in beans and 2/3 cup of French fried onions.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until hot.
  • Stir.
  • Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup of onions.
  • Bake 5 minutes or until onions are golden.

2 slices of bacon, optional
1/4 cup of finely minced onion, optional
1 (10.75 ounce) can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup of whole milk
1 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
4 cups of cooked green beans
1-1/3 cups (more or less) of French fried onions (like French's), divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish with butter or non-stick spray; set aside. Saute the bacon and onion in a skillet just until onion is tender and bacon fat rendered, about 5 minutes. Pour off excess bacon drippings, reserving for another use. Stir in the soup, milk, soy sauce, and pepper until well blended. Add the green beans and 1/4 of the French fried onions; turn out into the casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 25 minutes or until bubbly. Sprinkle top of casserole with remaining fried onions, using more or less as desired. and return to the oven for about 5 minutes longer, or until onions are lightly browned. Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except 2/3 c onion rings.
  • Pour into buttered casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Top with remaining onion rings and bake 5 minutes more or til onions are golden brown.
  • I'm going to try it with low fat cm of mush soup. I'll let you know how it turns out.
  • PS - The french fried onions are in the canned vegetable aisle!

1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Cups Crispy Fried Onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a casserole dish combine green beans, soup and milk.
  • Sprinkle in the salt and pepper.
  • Stir together.
  • Place into the oven and cook for 30 minutes.
  • Take casserole out of the oven and sprinkle french fried onions on top.
  • Place back in the oven and cook for 4-5 minutes or until french fried onions look really golden brown.
  • Serve & enjoy!
