RICH DEVILED PORK CHOPS

My dad loved pork, this is one of his favourite ways to prepared pork chops...try them you'll see, how good they can be...come on I dare you!...If you like it spicy add more of the spices.

4 pork chops, 1-inch thick (4 - 6 chops)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup apple cider or 1/2 cup apple juice
1 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon curry powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Trim fat from pork chops.
  • Slash the sides with a knife, in two or three places.
  • Brown the chops in oil.
  • Place the chops in a single layer in a large cooking dish.
  • Blend all remaining ingredients together and pour over the pork chops.
  • Cover with tinfoil and bake for 1 hour in a 350°F oven.

BBQ PULLED PORK DEVILED EGGS



BBQ Pulled Pork Deviled Eggs image

These deviled eggs have a BBQ surprise of pulled pork hidden under the creamy egg yolk topper. They're perfect as a starter for any occasion and so delicious that we bet you can't just eat one.

12 large eggs
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 shallot, thinly sliced
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons minced chives
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3/4 cup store-bought pulled pork
1/4 cup crispy fried onions, such as French's
2 tablespoons BBQ sauce

Steps:

  • Place the eggs in a single layer in a large saucepan, cover with 1 inch of water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer for 8 minutes. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool completely, 5 minutes. Then carefully peel them.
  • Place the vinegar, sugar, shallots and 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for another 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then refrigerate until cool, 1 hour.
  • Slice the eggs in half lengthwise. Transfer the yolks to a medium bowl and place the egg whites on a platter. Mash the yolks with a fork until fine and crumbly. Fold in the mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon chives, mustard, 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Transfer to a large resealable bag or pastry bag and snip about 1/2 inch off one corner with scissors.
  • Divide the pulled pork between the egg whites. Pipe the egg yolk mixture on top of the pulled pork, garnish with the pickled shallots and crush the crispy fried onions in your hand and sprinkle on top. Drizzle with the BBQ sauce and garnish with the remaining 1 tablespoon chives.

DEVILED PORK TENDERLOINS

The Government of Alberta distributed this recipe (among others) at a conference I attended in Calgary some years ago. It is Mmmm, Mmmm Good, and is wonderful company fare. I find that the sauce tends to thicken quite a bit while baking, so I usually add a bit more water during the process. I would also recommend doubling the sauce (amounts given are from the original recipe). Twice-baked potatoes and seasoned fresh green beans make it a truly outstanding meal (along with fresh dinner rolls, of course). Hope you enjoy it.

2 (3/4 lb) pork tenderloin
1 -2 garlic clove, finely chopped (optional)
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard (or more, to taste)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • In a blender, combine garlic, onion, brown sugar, ketchup, lemon juice, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Blend on high speed till smooth; set aside.
  • In a frying pan, over medium-high heat, quickly brown tenderloins in a bit of oil.
  • Place in a 3-quart baking pan and spoon sauce over meat.
  • Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, basting occasionally. (To save a mess in your oven, tent your baking pan very loosely with foil.).
  • To serve, cut in 1/2" slices (on the diagonal) and either drizzle sauce over the top or serve in a separate dish.

Easily modified for personal tastes, but try it once as written - it is delicious - AND - it's low-fat too! Make delicious sandwiches on your choice of bread with a thin coat of mayo, sliced bread and butter pickles, and a generous layer of Deviled Ham. Men and kids love these.

½ pound cooked ham, cut into chunks
¼ onion, sliced
3 tablespoons low-fat creamy salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip Light®)
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1 dash hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®), or to taste
½ teaspoon paprika
⅛ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground white pepper

Steps:

  • Place ham and onion into a food processor and process until very finely chopped.
  • Transfer ham mixture to a bowl. Thoroughly mix in salad dressing, honey, prepared mustard, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard powder, hot pepper sauce, paprika, salt, and white pepper.

1 medium onion, chopped small
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon brown sugar
4 tablespoons ketchup
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup soy sauce
4 -6 pork chops (1 inch thick)

Steps:

  • Place chops in an oven safe 9x13 casserole dish.
  • Mix remaining ingredients together well.
  • Pour mixture over chops.
  • Marinate in fridge for about an hour (this step is not necessary if you are pressed for time).
  • Bake in 350F oven for an hour.
  • Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.

6 pork chops, 1 inch thick
cornstarch or flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 medium onions, chopped
1 cup water
1 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon celery salt or 1/8 teaspoon curry powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Have a baking dish ready that is large enough to hold the pork chops in a single layer.
  • Trim fat from chops and slash edges to keep them from curling during browning.
  • Dust chops with a little cornstarch or flour (or shake in plastic bag with a little flour or cornstarch; shake off excess).
  • Brown chops in oil in a large skillet or electric fry pan.
  • As they are browned, place chops in a single layer in the baking dish.
  • Drain excess fat from skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons.
  • Add the chopped onions and brown.
  • Add the rest of the sauce ingredients and blend together.
  • Stir and scrape bottom of pan to get browned bits.
  • Pour sauce over chops.
  • Cover and bake for one hour, or until chops are tender when pierced with a fork. Adjust cooking time if using thinner pork chops.
  • Remove cover for last 15 to 20 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  • Baste occasionally.
