Chocolate Chip Squares image

A moist sqare with a caramel and chocolate flavor. This is from Company's Company Squares Cookbook. My family enjoys these and so do I. Hope you do too.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts

Steps:

  • In medium-size bowl,cream butter with brown sugar.
  • Add white sugar and cream again.
  • Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
  • Measure in flour, soda and salt.
  • Stir until well blended.
  • Add chips and nuts stirring to combine.
  • Scrape into 9X9 inch pan.
  • Bake in 350*F oven for 25 to 30 minutes until set and a nice brown color.
  • When cool cut into squares.

This bar cookie is an old fashioned favorite. Chocolate chips, nuts and coconut are set in a caramelized layer on top of a graham cracker crust.

½ cup butter or margarine, melted
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
1 ⅓ cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees for glass dish). Coat 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Combine graham cracker crumbs and butter. Press into bottom of prepared pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. Press down firmly with a fork.
  • Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars or diamonds. Store covered at room temperature.

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons cocoa
2/3 cup chopped nuts
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup coconut
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
4 tablespoons half-and-half
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix flour, cocoa, and nuts.
  • Add to sugar mixture.
  • Spread into 9x13 pan.
  • Bake at 350* for 30 minutes.
  • Combine condensed milk and coconut.
  • Spread over cake, bake 15 minutes more.
  • Mix frosting ingredients until smooth.
  • Spread over the coconut while still warm.
  • Chill.
  • Cut into bars.

1/2 cup melted coconut oil
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups coconut flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9x13 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray OR (I prefer) use nonstick stoneware pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together coconut oil, brown sugar, vanilla, eggs, milk.
  • Sift in coconut flour, baking soda, salt. Mix until combined and batter is completely smooth. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • "Bake for 17-22 minutes or until edges are golden brown and knife comes out with a few crumbs attached. The batter may look like it's not all the way cooked but it will be. DO NOT OVERBAKE or it will result in dried out bars and no one likes that! I always bake mine for 18-20 minutes and don't have any problems. Cool bars on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes so that they settle a bit, then cut into 16 squares. Enjoy!".

1 1/3 cups whole wheat pastry flour or sprouted whole wheat flour
Pinch of sea salt
FILLING
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup light agave nectar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons whole wheat pastry flour or sprouted whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
3 ripe bananas, mashed
3/4 cup walnuts
1 cup grain-sweetened chocolate chips or carob chips
1 cup dried unsweetened coconut

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • To make the crust, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter, flour, and salt. Pat into a 9- by 13-inch unoiled baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes and remove. To make the filling, mix all the filling ingredients together and pour over the crust. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until slightly golden. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars. Keep refrigerated.

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 13 x9-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl cream shortening, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until well blended.
  • In a small bowl mix together flour, baking powder and salt; add to the creamed mixture, mix until blended.
  • Mix in the coconut & chocolate chips.
  • Transfer/spread the mixture in the prepared pan.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes.
  • Let cool before slicing.

  • Toss together oats, flour, brown sugar, chips, coconut, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Beat together butter, egg, and vanilla with a fork in another bowl, then stir into oat mixture until incorporated. Spoon batter into baking pan, patting evenly.
