ZEBRA CAKE III
This easy-to-make icebox cake seems to be as popular today as it was 50 years ago.

Steps:
- Beat cream in a large glass or metal mixing bowl with an electric mixer. Gradually add confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until the cream holds stiff peaks. Lift your beater or whisk straight up: the whipped cream should form a sharp peak that holds its shape.
- Spread a generous teaspoon of whipped cream on each cookie. Press cookies together to make 3-inch stacks.
- Spread a 1-inch wide line of whipped cream down center of a serving platter. Assemble cookie stacks into a log on platter following the line of whipped cream.
- Frost cookie log with remaining whipped cream and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.
- To serve, slice diagonally to create striped pieces.

- In large saucepan melt 3 tablespoons of the butter over low heat. Add 1 package of the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Add Kellogg's® Cocoa Krispies® cereal and cookies. Stir until well coated.
- Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool.
- In clean large saucepan melt the remaining 3 tablespoons butter over low heat. Add the remaining package of marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Add Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal. Stir until well coated.
- Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into another 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool.
- Cut each pan of cereal mixture into six 10 x 2 1/2-inch strips. On cutting board layer one chocolate strip. Top with plain strip, another chocolate strip and another plain strip. Firmly press together. Cut into ten 1-inch slices. Repeat with remaining strips. Best if served the same day.

Cut with a horse-shaped cookie cutter. Remove cutouts to waxed paper; set aside., In a microwave, melt vanilla chips and 1/2 teaspoon shortening; stir until smooth. Spread over cutouts. - Preheat oven to direction on back of the boxes. Mix the two cake mixes separately adding an additional 3 Tbls of water to the vanilla cake mix (this helps it to spread easier).
- Take 2 round cake pans and using 1/4th Cup of a cake mix at a time, add a scoop to the middle of the cake pan, wait until it spreads some about 10 seconds, add another 1/4 scoop of the other color cake batter. Keep doing this until the pan is 2/3 of the way full. Do this again with the other cake pan. Cook cakes to directions on the back of the box.
- When cakes are done cooking, let sit in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer the cakes out of the pan onto a wire rack and let cool completely.
- While the cakes are cooking and cooling make the frosting. Beat the butter, cream cheese and vanilla with a hand mixer for about 3 minutes until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar in batches and lastly the milk.
