Ingredients:

  1. butter
  2. brown sugar
  3. eggs
  4. real vanilla
  5. all-purpose flour
  6. baking soda
  7. quick-cooking rolled oats
  8. sweetened condensed milk
  9. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees f
  2. set aside 2 tablespoons of the butter
  3. beat the remaining butter with mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds
  4. add brown sugar and beat until well mixed
  5. beat in eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla
  6. in another large bowl stir together flour and baking soda then stir in oats
  7. gradually stir dry mixture into beaten mixture
  8. set aside
  9. in a medium saucepan combine the 2 tablespoons butter , the sweetened condensed milk , and chocolate
  10. cook over low heat until chocolate melts , stirring occasionally
  11. remove from heat
  12. stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla
  13. press three quarters of the oat mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 1510x1inch baking pan
  14. spread chocolate mixture over the oat mixture
  15. use your fingers and dot the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate
  16. bake for about 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned
  17. cool on a wire rack
  18. cut into 22 inch inch bars
