CRANBERRY SANDWICH SPREAD
Spread this on a ham or turkey sandwich and you'll never use mayo again! Also good as a glaze on any kind of pork.

Steps:
- Just barely cover cranberries with apple cider. Add spices, balsamic vinegar, and mustard.
- Cover and bring to a simmer.
- Cook until cranberries pop out of their skins.Push all the mixture in the pan (except the cinnamon sticks) through a colander to remove the skins.
- Place back in pan and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Stir the cornstarch into the water to dissolve and then add it to the mixture in the pan. Cook until thick and clear. Cool. Can be used as a glaze or as a sandwich spread.

I took the basics of this recipe from the bag the berries came in. It came out tasting like the whole berried sauce from the can but, not as sweet. The best thing is when making the after dinner sandwiches it spreads easily on the turkey. Cooking time is up to your preferance on thickness 1 cup of Splnda is 96 calories

- Put all ingredients in a 3 cup suacepan and stir over high heat.
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low.
- Remove from heat when thickened.
- Using a thunderstick pulverize the berries.
- After cooling put in a serving dish cover and refrigerate.

- Place buns cut side up on an ungreased baking sheet. Spread butter over bun bottoms. Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. - Preheat the oven broiler.
- Cut the bread into four pieces, and split lengthwise almost all the way through for four sandwiches. Spread margarine on the inside of each piece. Place on a baking sheet, cut side up.
- Toast bread under preheated broiler until lightly browned, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove pan from the oven.
- Layer 4 pieces of bread with 2 slices each of the turkey, cheese, and bacon. Remove the remaining 4 slices of bread from the baking sheet and reserve for sandwich tops. Cool bread slightly, and spread mayonnaise onto the cut side of each of the 4 top slices.
- Place the bread with turkey and cheese under the broiler just until the cheese melts, about 1 minute. Remove from the broiler, and spread 1 tablespoon cranberry sauce over each sandwich. Layer with the tomatoes and lettuce. Place a top bread slice over each half, and serve.
