JALAPENOS STUFFED WITH SAUSAGE

Jalapenos Stuffed With Sausage image

It's Football season! Beers in the cooler and stuffed jalapenos in the oven! What's in yours?

Provided by Connie "Kiyu" Guerrero

Categories     Other Side Dishes

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 1/2 lb jalapeno peppers
1 pkg 8oz. cream cheese (softened)
1 c parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
1 lb italian sausage (or any sausage)
FOUR INGREDIENTS BEFORE THE GAME!

Steps:

  • 1. Start by softening the cream cheese. Just take it out of the refrigerator, open the wrapping, and let it sit on the counter while you cook the sausage. It will soften on its own!
  • 2. I chose HOT Italian sausage to make this recipe. It ended up with quite a kick! Choosing sweet Italian sausage or pork sausage would definitely have decreased the amount of heat. Buy whatever sausage you prefer, depending on YOUR taste or that of the people invited to your party. With a sharp knife, slice through the casing of the sausage.
  • 3. Add the softened cream cheese and the grated Parmesan cheese. This needs to get totally mixed together. Wash the jalapenos and cut them in half with a sharp knife. Remove the seeds and membrane with a knife.
  • 4. Fill each jalapeño half with about 1 to 1 ½ Tablespoons of filling. Some of the filled peppers may tip over in the oven. To prevent this, you can "snuggle" or "nestle" them together on the baking sheet. (Be sure to use a baking sheet with sides!)
  • 5. Bake them in a pre-heated 425 degrees F oven for 20 minutes. ENJOY THE GAME!

AIR FRYER STUFFED JALAPENOS

Air Fryer Stuffed Jalapenos image

Whip up these Air Fryer Stuffed Jalapenos. Cream cheese, shredded cheese and dipped in buttered bread crumbs. The ultimate jalapeno popper recipe.

Provided by Kelsey Apley

Categories     Appetizers and Snacks

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 Jalapenos (or you can buy more)
6 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt with parsley
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/3 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon butter (melted)

Steps:

  • Start by slicing your jalapenos in half. If you don't like a lot of heat, you will scoop out the seeds in your jalapeno peppers along with the white membrane.
  • Take your halved jalapenos and rinse them under cold water, to remove the oil.
  • Now in a bowl you will add your cream cheese, shredded cheese, and seasonings and mix until the pepper stuffing is nice and creamy.
  • Spoon the popper filling into the jalapenos and set down.
  • In a small bowl mix your melted butter and bread crumbs until mixed.
  • Take your stuffed peppers and dip into the breadcrumbs. Shake off any excess and place on air fryer rack.
  • Turn air fryer to 325 and cook for 15-20 minutes. You want the bread crumbs on top of the jalapeno poppers to get golden brown.
  • Allow the hot jalapeno poppers to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce.

  • Tips on seeding the jalapenos. 1) Wear gloves throughout the entire process, then remove right after so you don’t transfer to sink faucet, cabinet handles, etc. 2) I love my little lemon zester tool for seeding but a small melon baller works great too. 3) As you half and seed the jalapenos and put into a bowl of continuous running water. This helps soften to bake better and removes some heat.

  • Wearing gloves (seriously, wear the gloves!) slice the tops off of each jalapeno pepper. Use a small spoon or butter knife to pull out the seeds and membrane of the pepper. Discard the seeds and tops.
  • Wrap a slice of bacon around each pepper. Do not wind bacon too tightly because it will shrink when cooking. Stick a toothpick all the way through the pepper to hold the bacon in place. The toothpick also helps keep the peppers from rolling around on the grill too much.
  • Place peppers on the grill, either carefully on the grates, or in a popper grill stand, or on a grill safe tray to prevent the peppers from falling through the grates.
