CREAMY HAM AND GNOCCHI BAKE

this dish is the perfect comfort food for a quick family weeknight dinner. it stores great as leftovers too!

Ingredients: gnocchi,ham steaks,butter,flour,garlic cloves,shallot,milk,thyme,dijon mustard,cheese,parmesan cheese,peas,salt and pepper,breadcrumbs,fresh parsley

Steps:

  1. preheat oven to 375°
  2. f
  3. bring a large pot of water with a small handful of salt to a boil
  4. cook gnocchi 3-4 minutes or until they float to the surface
  5. remove and set aside
  6. heat a deep skillet over medium heat
  7. grease with a splash of oil and cook ham steak about 4-5 minutes per side
  8. remove from heat and dice into chunks
  9. in the same pan , melt butter and saute garlic and shallots until fragrant
  10. whisk in flour , until a paste forms
  11. slowly add in milk , whisking constantly
  12. bring this mixture to a light simmer
  13. add thyme , mustard , and cheeses
  14. stir until smooth and season with salt and pepper
  15. remove from heat and stir in 3 / 4 cup peas , gnocchi , and ham
  16. transfer mixture to a shallow baking dish
  17. sprinkle with the remaining 1 / 4 cup peas and breadcrumbs if desired
  18. bake for 18-20 minutes or until bubbling
  19. garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve
  20. enjoy !
