Creamy Baked Beefaroni Recipe

  1. penne
  2. vegetable oil
  3. onion
  4. fresh garlic
  5. extra lean ground beef
  6. red pasta sauce
  7. beef stock
  8. all-purpose flour
  9. milk
  10. cheddar cheese
  11. mozzarella cheese
  12. parmesan cheese


  1. preheat oven to 450 degrees fahrenheit
  2. spray a 13-by-9-inch glass baking dish with cooking oil
  3. bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the penne for eight to 10 minutes or until tender but firm
  4. drain
  5. heat the oil in a non-stick saucepan over medium heat
  6. add the onions and garlic and saut until softened , which takes about four minutes
  7. stir in the beef and cook , stirring to break up the meat , until no longer pink , which takes about four minutes
  8. stir in the tomato pasta sauce and 1 / 2 cup stock
  9. cover and cook for 10 minutes , or until thickened
  10. set aside
  11. whisk the flour , milk and 1 3 / 4 cup stock in a non-stick saucepan until smooth
  12. place over medium heat and cook until the mixture begins to boil
  13. reduce the heat to low and continue to cook , stirring occasionally , for five minutes or until thickened
  14. stir in the cheddar cheese
  15. remove from heat
  16. stir the cheese sauce into the meat sauce
  17. toss the pasta with the sauce
  18. pour into the prepared baking dish
  19. sprinkle with the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses
  20. bake in the centre of the oven for 10 minutes , until bubbly
  21. serves 4-6
