Creamy Chicken Linguine Recipe

  1. linguine
  2. boneless skinless chicken breast
  3. olive oil
  4. garlic
  5. fresh mushrooms
  6. flour
  7. dried basil
  8. crushed red pepper flakes
  9. pepper
  10. fat-free evaporated milk
  11. frozen peas
  12. reduced-fat sour cream
  13. green onions
  14. parmesan cheese


  1. begin cooking linguine according to package directions
  2. add 2 teaspoons oil and cubed chicken to large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat
  3. cook until chicken is cooked through and lightly browned
  4. with slotted spoon , remove chicken from skillet , set aside
  5. add remaining 1 teaspoon oil , garlic and mushrooms to skillet , saute until soft- approximately 3 minutes
  6. whisk in flour , basil crushed red pepper , and pepper until thoroughly incorporated
  7. slowly stir in evaporated milk
  8. bring to a boil
  9. cook , stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes , or until thickened
  10. reduce heat to medium-low
  11. add sour cream and peas
  12. cook 2 minutes
  13. combine linguine and chicken with sauce just until heated
  14. garnish with green onions and shredded parmesan cheese
