Ingredients:

  1. gnocchi
  2. ham steaks
  3. butter
  4. flour
  5. garlic cloves
  6. shallot
  7. milk
  8. thyme
  9. dijon mustard
  10. cheese
  11. parmesan cheese
  12. peas
  13. salt and pepper
  14. breadcrumbs
  15. fresh parsley

Steps:

  1. preheat oven to 375°
  2. f
  3. bring a large pot of water with a small handful of salt to a boil
  4. cook gnocchi 3-4 minutes or until they float to the surface
  5. remove and set aside
  6. heat a deep skillet over medium heat
  7. grease with a splash of oil and cook ham steak about 4-5 minutes per side
  8. remove from heat and dice into chunks
  9. in the same pan , melt butter and saute garlic and shallots until fragrant
  10. whisk in flour , until a paste forms
  11. slowly add in milk , whisking constantly
  12. bring this mixture to a light simmer
  13. add thyme , mustard , and cheeses
  14. stir until smooth and season with salt and pepper
  15. remove from heat and stir in 3 / 4 cup peas , gnocchi , and ham
  16. transfer mixture to a shallow baking dish
  17. sprinkle with the remaining 1 / 4 cup peas and breadcrumbs if desired
  18. bake for 18-20 minutes or until bubbling
  19. garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve
