Creamy Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

  1. butter
  2. onion
  3. garlic
  4. flour
  5. seasoning salt
  6. black pepper
  7. cayenne pepper
  8. half-and-half cream
  9. cheddar cheese
  10. swiss cheese
  11. parmesan cheese
  12. potatoes


  1. set oven to 375 degrees
  2. grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish
  3. for the sauce
  4. melt butter in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat
  5. add in onion and garlic and saute for 3 minutes
  6. add in flour and whisk 1 minute
  7. slowly add in half and half cream and cook stirring until thickened , smooth and bubbly
  8. add in seasoned salt , black pepper and cayenne
  9. reduce heat to low and mix in the cheddar cheese , swiss cheese and 1 / 4 cup parmesan cheese
  10. stir with a wooden spoon until the the cheese has melted and the mixture is smooth remove from heat
  11. layer the potatoes into the baking dish
  12. pour the cheese sauce over , then mix the sauce using a spatula or a wooden spoon to coat the sauce with the potatoes
  13. sprinkle with 1 / 2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  14. bake covered for about 30 minutes
  15. remove foil and continue to bake until the top is browned and the potatoes are tender about 35-40 minutes
