This creamy honey mustard chicken recipe has tender, melt-in-your-mouth chicken breasts and a silky honey Dijon sauce. It's quick and easy to make, so it's great for busy weeknights but tasty enough for company!

2 large chicken breasts (cut in half lengthwise)
Salt & pepper (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Flour (for dredging)
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons butter (divided)
1/3 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup heavy/whipping cream

Steps:

  • Prepare your chicken (cut it in half lengthwise so you have 4 smaller cutlets). Sprinkle them with the garlic powder and salt & pepper and then coat them in the flour.
  • Heat the olive oil and one tablespoon of the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once the pan is hot, add the chicken pieces and cook them for 4-5 minutes/side or until they're golden. If the oil starts to splatter a lot, reduce the heat. Once the chicken is browned, take it out of the pan and set it aside.
  • Take the pan off the heat and add the rest of the butter, the chicken broth, Dijon mustard, and the honey.
  • Return the pan to the stove and adjust the heat to medium. Stir the sauce until the mustard has dissolved (make sure the liquid doesn't reduce completely).
  • Add the cream. Once the sauce is bubbling again, add the chicken back in. Let it cook for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is reduced to your liking.

My DD favourite way to have chicken. Very tasty and if you like you can add a few vegies into the mix.

1 (420 g) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 tablespoon coarse grain mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup cream
1 tablespoon oil
500 g diced chicken breast fillets
chopped chives, to garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • In a bowl combine then soup, mustard, honey and cream.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the chicken and cook for 5 mins or until golden brown.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add soup mixture and simmer for 10 mins, stirring occasionally until sauce is hot and chicken is cooked through.
  • When cooked immediately serve the chicken over rice or with steamed vegetables or mashed potatoes.
  • Garnish with chopped chives if desired.

¼ cup grainy mustard
2 tablespoons honey
3 (6 ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ medium white onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 tablespoons Dijon & honey (liquid) LF
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Mix grainy mustard and honey together in a ceramic or glass bowl. Add chicken pieces and massage with marinade. Let sit to absorb flavors, about 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and 2 tablespoons honey Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium and saute until onion and garlic are browned, 3 to 4 minutes. If necessary, add 1 tablespoon of water during this process.
  • Add chicken to the skillet and remaining 2 tablespoons honey Dijon. Mix well and cover. Cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is no longer pink in the centers, 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Uncover, increase heat, and reduce sauce until creamy and thick, 3 to 5 more minutes.

⅓ cup honey
3 Tablespoons whole grain mustard ( (the one with the seeds))
1½ Tablespoons minced garlic
1 Tablespoon olive oil
salt (to season)
5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
½ cup bacon bits
1½ cups milk
1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
2 green onions (chopped)
2 Tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)

Steps:

  • In a large, shallow dish, combine the honey, mustard, garlic, oil and salt to taste. Coat chicken evenly in the sauce. Set aside.
  • Heat a nonstick pan (or skillet) over medium heat. Sear chicken fillets on each side in the oil until it just begins to brown (about 3 minutes per side -- not completely cooked through as we will finish them in the sauce).
  • Add any remaining honey mustard sauce into the pan along with milk. Bring to a simmer while stirring occasionally to mix the favors through the sauce (about 3 minutes), until the chicken is cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a warm plate.
  • Pour the cornstarch mixture into the centre of the pan, mixing it through the sauce until it thickens. Place chicken back into the pan; coat with the sauce. Top with the bacon and garnish with parsley and green onions.
