These are delicious steaks my mom used to make when I was growing up. They are easy too! They go great with mashed potatoes or white rice and have a flavorful sauce left over, almost like a gravy.

1 pound ground beef
⅓ cup dry bread crumbs
1 egg
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can water

Steps:

  • Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, and onion soup mix together in a bowl; shape into 6 oblong patties.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties until browned, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Stir golden mushroom soup and water together in a bowl; pour over the patties in the skillet. Turn patties to coat in the liquid. Bring liquid to a simmer, reduce heat to medium-low, place a cover on the skillet, and cook until steaks are very firm, hot, and grey in the center, 10 to 15 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup (undiluted)
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared mustard (spicy brown)
1 egg (lightly beaten)
1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Combine soup, mustard, Worcestershire and horseradish in a bowl and set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix together egg, bread crumbs, onion, salt, pepper, 1/4 cup soup mixture and the ground beef.
  • Form mixture into 4-6 patties.
  • Brown patties in oil and drain off excess fat.
  • Combine rest of the soup mixture with the 1/2 cup water and pour over the patties.
  • Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes (or until done) Remove patties and spoon remaining sauce over top.
  • This is great over hot cooked noodles!

2 eggs, beaten
1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (10 ounce) can beef broth
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
½ teaspoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, dry soup mix, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl; add about 1/2 the can of beef broth and continue mixing until beef mixture is thoroughly moistened. Divide mixture into six portions and shape into patties.
  • Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat. Brown patties in the hot pot, 3 to 5 minutes per side. Spoon excess grease from the pot.
  • Stir remaining beef broth with cream of mushroom soup and dry mustard in a bowl until smooth; pour over the browned patties.
  • Bake in preheated oven until patties are no longer pink in the center, about 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

1 tablespoon olive oil
3 large bell peppers, minced
1 large onion, minced
3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups panko bread crumbs
½ cup Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons steak sauce (such as A1®)
3 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons salt
1 ½ tablespoons ground black pepper
1 ½ tablespoons garlic powder

Steps:

  • Mix ground beef and eggs together in a very large bowl.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat; stir in bell peppers and onion. Cook and stir until vegetables are tender, 5 to 7 minutes.

8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced (3 cups)
2 tablespoons cold water
