Pork steaks are slowly cooked with a homemade barbecue sauce. Best of all, you get the delicious flavor of bbq pork without having to fire up the grill.

4 pork steaks
1 teaspoon oil
salt and pepper, to taste
1 1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 large onions
1 cup ketchup
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder

Steps:

  • Coat the pork steaks with the oil then sprinkle evenly with salt, pepper, and paprika. Place in the bottom of the crock pot. Slice the onions very thin and place on top of the pork steaks. Combine the ketchup, water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder until blended. Pour over the top of the onions and pork. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 8-9 hours or until pork is tender. Serve hot.

1 large onion, sliced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 cups water (or enough to cover pork)
1 bottle prepared barbecue sauce
8 to 12 hamburger buns, for serving

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Place pork roast in the crockery insert of a slow cooker .
  • Add the sliced onion and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cover the pork with water.
  • Cook on low all day-for at least 12 hours.
  • Remove the roast, discarding cooking water. Save the sliced onions and set them aside.
  • Fork-shred the pork, discarding any fat and bones.
  • Return shredded meat and onions to the slow cooker.
  • Dump a bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce over it, and cook an hour or so on low until heated thoroughly.
  • Serve on heated buns, along with your favorite sides. Enjoy!

1-1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup cola, divided
1 cup barbecue sauce
10 sandwich buns, split

Steps:

  • Cut roast in half; place in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Sprinkle with seasoned salt and garlic powder. Pour 1/4 cup cola over roast. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until meat is tender., Remove roast; cool slightly. Shred meat with 2 forks and return to slow cooker. 4 pork steaks or 4 boneless pork chops, 3/4 inch to 1 inch thick
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons hot paprika (Hungarian preferred)
1 teaspoon sage, dried
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic, mashed

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients except pork steaks.
  • Rub spice mix all over the steaks.
  • Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and put in fridge overnight or 2 hours at room temperature.
  • Have the BBQ HOT and sear the chops for 2 minutes each side.
  • Turn BBQ down to medium and continue cooking apprx 6 minutes each side or until internal temperature reaches 160-170F.

1 bottle BBQ sauce (we use Sweet Baby Rays)
salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Rub salt and pepper on both sides of each pork steak.
  • Using a knife, cut a small slit or two in each steak.
  • Pour a dab of bbq sauce in the bottom of the slow cooker
  • Place a steak in the slow cooker and baste with a dab of bbq sauce.
  • Repeat the process and place another steak in the slow cooker, making sure each steak is covered with sauce.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until steaks are done. (Making sure internal temp of pork steaks reach 145 degrees, and allow to rest for 3 minutes before serving.)

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup steak sauce
