Crock Pot Chicken And Dumplings Spend With Pennies Version Recipe

  1. onion
  2. cream of celery soup
  3. cream of chicken soup
  4. fresh parsley
  5. poultry seasoning
  6. black pepper
  7. boneless skinless chicken breasts
  8. low sodium chicken broth
  9. frozen vegetables
  10. refrigerated biscuits


  1. add onion to 6 qt crock pot and top with chicken breasts
  2. in a small bowl , combine cream of celery soup , cream of chicken soup , parsley , poultry seasoning and pepper
  3. spread over chicken breasts
  4. top with chicken broth and cook on high 5 hours
  5. approximately 1 hour before serving , roll each biscuit thin and flat
  6. cut into 4 strips
  7. add vegetables and biscuit strips to the slow cooker and stir
  8. remove chicken breasts and slightly shred
  9. add back into slow cooker and stir
  10. let cook an additional 10 minutes and serve

I seasoned the chicken with salt and pepper and then shredded it before adding peas and dumplings at the end. Had to cook the dough a little longer 40min and still had a few raw dumplings.
