Crock Pot Maple Sauced Pears Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. pears
  2. brown sugar
  3. maple syrup
  4. margarine
  5. orange zest
  6. ground ginger
  7. cornstarch
  8. orange juice

Steps:

  1. peel pears
  2. core pears from bottom , leaving stems attached
  3. place pears upright in slow cooker
  4. mix remaining ingredients except cornstarch and orange juice
  5. pour over pears
  6. cover and cook on high heat setting 2 to 2 1 / 2 hours or until tender
  7. remove pears from cooker
  8. place upright in serving dish or individual dessert dishes
  9. mix cornstarch and orange juice
  10. stir into sauce in cooker
  11. cover and cook on high heat setting about 10 minutes or until sauce is thickened
  12. spoon sauce over pears
  13. use 1 / 4 cup honey instead of the maple syrup for a change of pace
