Apples and brown sugar add slightly sweet flavor to these easy slow cooker pork chops. This quick and easy meal requires very little prep work.

6 pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Salt (to taste)
6 tart apples (such as Granny Smith; cored and thickly sliced)
Optional: 1/4 cup currants (or raisins)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Trim the pork chops and discard any excess fat.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear, turning to brown both sides.
  • Sprinkle the pork chops with salt and place them in the slow cooker.
  • Combine remaining ingredients-apple slices, currants or raisins, lemon juice, and brown sugar-and pour over the pork chops.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for about 3 to 4 hours. Serve and enjoy.

  • Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper; place in cooker.
  • In small bowl, mix brown sugar, vinegar, ginger, cinnamon, red pepper and cranberries. Spoon over pork in cooker; top with apples.

1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon granule

1 quart sauerkraut

I whipped this up in the slow cooker, and it was awesome served with broccoli and rice, and also as pulled pork sandwiches for the 2 kids and hubby for a few days without them getting tired of it! It got better and better until it was gone, so I figured it was worth sharing. You let me know what you think!

6 apples with peel, cored and cut into 8 wedges
1 large red onion, roughly chopped
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
7 pounds pork shoulder roast
½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
½ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
1 (24 ounce) jar cinnamon-flavored applesauce
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste

Steps:
