Steps:
- Whisk water, poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl; add chicken to bowl and turn to coat.
- Pour 1/2 of the chicken broth into a slow cooker; add chicken and poultry seasoning mixture. Layer onion, carrots, and celery, respectively, over chicken. Dot butter over vegetables; pour celery soup and chicken soup over vegetables and sprinkle rosemary on top.
- Cook on High for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours. Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred with two forks; return chicken to slow cooker. Add biscuit dough pieces to chicken mixture. Cook on High for 1 1/2 hours.

CHICKEN IN A POT WITH DUMPLINGS

- In a large pot combine chicken, carrots, onion, celery, peppercorns, and bay leaf. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. When meat is falling off the bone, remove the chicken from the pot and set aside to cool. Strain and reserve to remove vegetables and reserve stock. When chicken is cool, remove all meat from the bones and shred.
- In a large heavy pot, heat oil over medium high heat. Stir in onion and cook for 1 minute. Stir in carrots, celery and potatoes and toss to coat. Cook vegetables for 3 minutes. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes. Add reserved stock and stir until it thickens. Add an additional cup of water if more liquid is needed. Simmer for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in chicken and parsley and season with salt and pepper.
- For the dumplings: In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Using a pastry blender, two knives or your fingertips cut the butter into the flour. Stir in the milk and parsley. Drop by the spoonful into the simmering stew. Simmer for 8 minutes or until firm.

- Put the carrots and celery in a 6- to 8-quart slow cooker. Top with the chicken; sprinkle with the garlic, red pepper flakes, ½ teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper. Whisk the broth with the flour in a medium bowl until smooth; pour over the chicken. Cover and cook on low, 7 hours.
- About 20 minutes before serving, bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pierogi and cook as the label directs. Drain.

- Add onion to 6 qt crock pot and top with chicken breasts.
- In a small bowl, combine cream of celery soup, cream of chicken soup, parsley, poultry seasoning and pepper. Spread over chicken breasts. Top with chicken broth and cook on high 5 hours.

- You can definitely just dump the first group of ingredients in the crock pot but since you are already going to make a cream sauce to stir in later I like to take the extra 5 minutes to brown the chicken and veggies. I don’t cook them through just get a bit of color on them by first browning the chicken skin side down in 1 TBS of butter. I remove those to the the crock pot once browned just a few minutes. And toss the onion, celery, and carrots in the pan and brown for a minute or two.
- Add the first batch of ingredients into the crock pot and cook on high for 4-6 hours. I leave the dirty pan covered to use later.
- 1/2- 1 hour before eating if you used bone on chicken remove the bones. I keep the skin but you can discard that if you want. I don’t bother shredding the chicken since it breaks apart fast jut by stirring in the rest of the ingredients and I prefer to have some bigger pieces of chicken.
