2 lbs cube steaks
salt
pepper
flour (for dredging)
1 (1 ounce) package onion gravy mix
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
2 cups water

Steps:

  • Salt and pepper the steak to your liking, then dredge in the flour.
  • Fry steak until brown and place in crock pot.
  • Add water, soup, and gravy mix.
  • Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

This crockpot cube steak with gravy is my favorite easy slow cooker recipe. It takes very little prep, making it a perfect dinner for busy weeknights! With just a handful of ingredients, you'll be putting this on the dinner menu every week!

21 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup ((2 10.5 ounce cans))
1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix ((use Recipe Secrets Onion or Beefy Onion flavor))
1/4 tsp ground black pepper ((to taste))
3/4 cup water ((optional, for thinner gravy))
1 1/2 lbs cube steaks ((4-6 cube steaks))
1 medium yellow onion ((or white onion, sliced))
4-8 oz mushrooms ((optional, sliced))

Steps:

  • Combine the cans of cream of mushroom condensed soup with the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and ground black pepper (plus water if desired) in your crock pot. Mix until well combined.
  • Layer the cube steaks over the 'gravy' mixture adding one at a time. Top each cube steak with some of the sliced onions as you add them, staggered in shingle-fashion, over the cream of mushroom base. Top with optional sliced mushrooms (white mushrooms or cremini) if desired.
  • Set your crock pot to high and cook for 6 hours. Serve over rice, potatoes, or pasta.

2 tablespoons flour
1 medium onion (Diced)
1 medium bell pepper (Diced)
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons soy sauce
salt
pepper
garlic powder

Steps:

  • Place Steak in the Crock pot Season, Sprinkle Flour.
  • Add Onions, Bell Peppers, Tomatoes and Soy Sauce.
  • Cover.
  • Cook on low 4-6 Hours.

This is really basic, but turns out well every time. I'm sure all of the readers can add their own touches to make it their own. I think the Franco American brand gravies are now Campbell's.

3 lbs beef round steak
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef gravy, Franco American
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can water
1/2 onion, sliced (thinly)
1 (2 ounce) package onion soup mix
1 (8 ounce) jar mushrooms (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix gravy, soup, and water in a bowl. Place all ingredients except mushrooms in crock pot. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours. Add mushrooms during the last half hour. Add Kitchen Bouquet to color if gravy is too pale.
  • Serve gravy over rice or mashed potatoes.
  • Variations:
  • Use 1 can mushroom gravy in place of mushroom soup.
  • Use cream of celery soup in place of mushroom soup.
