Curried Rice Bacon And Cabbage Pilaf Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. bacon
  2. butter
  3. onion
  4. garlic cloves
  5. fresh ginger
  6. long-grain white rice
  7. curry powder
  8. salt
  9. low sodium chicken broth
  10. green cabbage
  11. plum tomato
  12. green onion
  13. salt and pepper

Steps:

  1. cook bacon in large skillet over medium high heat until crisp
  2. drain on paper towels
  3. add 4 tablespoons butter to drippings in skillet
  4. melt
  5. add onion , garlic and ginger , saut over medium-high heat 5 minutes
  6. add rice , curry powder and 1 / 2 teaspoon salt
  7. stir 1 minute
  8. add broth
  9. bring to boil
  10. reduce heat to medium
  11. stir , cover and simmer until broth is absorbed , about 15 minutes
  12. meanwhile , melt remaining butter in large pot over medium-high heat
  13. add cabbage
  14. saut 3 minutes
  15. mix in tomatoes and green onions
  16. season with salt and pepper
  17. stir rice mixture into cabbage
