DAD'S SIMPLE STEAK MARINADE
This recipe is one my father taught me. It is the simplest homemade marinade! Just 5 common ingredients! When used overnight, the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic make flank, skirt and sirloin steaks flavorful and, most importantly, tender for the grill! For more flavor, add Kosher salt and cracked black pepper to your steak while it cooks. Red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar may be substituted for the red wine.

DAD'S FAVORITE FLANK STEAK
I found this one on Web MD's site in the "Recipes Men Love: Healthy Comfort Food" section. My dad is on a Weight Watchers kick so I figured I'd post this for future reference for my Mama. I hope you all enjoy!

Steps:
- Combine canola oil, chicken broth, honey, soy sauce, onions, ginger, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce in a medium bowl with a whisk; set aside.
- Remove any visible fat from flank steak. Lightly score the meat with a serrated knife, cutting about 1/4" into the meat in a criss-cross pattern (leave about an inch between cuts) on the top and bottom of the flank.
- Put the flank in a rectangular plastic container, add the marinade and coat the steak well all over. Cover and marinate the steak all day or overnight, turning occasionally.
- Heat grill. Grill steak 10-15 minutes each side, basting with marinade, until desired doneness.
- Use a carving knife to cut diagonally across the grain of the meat into slices of your desired thickness.

Steps:
- Chill beef. Cut 1 1/2-1 3/4 inches thick. Score both sides in diamond pattern, 1/8 inch deep. Cook remaining ingredients for marinade slowly for 10 minutes; chill. Place steak in plastic bag, add marinade, press out air, tie securely, and place in pan in refrigerator for 6-8 hours or overnight. Remove steak from marinade, reserving marinade, and place on grill over ash covered coals or on a rack in broiling pan so surface meat is 4-5 inches from heat. Broil at moderate temperature, rare or medium (25-30 minutes, depending on thickness of steak and doneness desired), brushing with marinade and turning occasionally. Carve in thin slices, diagonally, against the grain.

DAD'S FAVORITE STEAK KABOBS
It's hard to say whether these are Dad's Favorite Steak Kabobs because they're so easy to make-or because the ranch dressing has bits of bacon in it.
