Dark Chocolate Cream Pie Recipe

Time: 30 minutes



  1. sugar
  2. cornstarch
  3. salt
  4. milk
  5. unsweetened chocolate
  6. egg yolks
  7. butter
  8. pastry shells


  1. in large saucepan , combine sugar , cornstarch and salt
  2. stir in milk and chocolate
  3. cook and stir over medium high heat until thickened and bubbly
  4. stir a small amount of hot filling into egg yolks
  5. return all to the pan , stirring constantly
  6. bring to a gentle boil
  7. cook and stir 2 minutes longer
  8. remove from the heat
  9. stir in butter and vanilla
  10. spoon into baked pastry shell
  11. cool on wire rack
  12. cover and chill for at least 3 hours
