Deep Dish Cajun Chicken Pot Pie Recipe

  1. pie crust
  2. chicken breasts
  3. frozen mixed vegetables
  4. potato
  5. butter
  6. all-purpose flour
  7. chicken broth
  8. milk
  9. cajun seasoning
  10. salt and pepper
  11. egg


  1. prepare pie crust
  2. in a large saucepan , melt butter
  3. stir in flour , cajun seasoning , salt , and pepper
  4. add broth and milk
  5. cook and stir until thickened and bubbling
  6. stir chicken , mixed vegetable , and potatoes
  7. pour into deap dish pie plate or tin
  8. brush edges of dish with beaten egg to help pie crust adhere
  9. place pie crust over mixture
  10. cut to fit and crump edges all around
  11. cut steam vents in the top
  12. if desired , re-roll and cut the excess pastry into strips or decorative shapes and lay over the crust
  13. brush with remaining beaten egg
  14. bake at 400f for 30 to 40 minutes until crust is browned
