Deep Fried Green Beans Recipe

  1. green beans
  2. peanut oil
  3. all-purpose flour
  4. water
  5. eggs
  6. baking powder
  7. salt
  8. ground black pepper


  1. cook beans in large pot of boiling salted water until crisp-tender , about 2 minutes
  2. drain
  3. cool in bowl of ice water
  4. drain again
  5. heat oil in deep fryer or large saucepan over medium-high heat to 350f
  6. combine flour , 3 / 4 cup water , eggs , baking powder , 3 / 4 teaspoon salt , and pepper in large bowl
  7. whisk until smooth batter forms
  8. dip 6 beans at a time into batter
  9. shake off excess
  10. add to hot oil and fry until golden brown , about 4 minutes per batch
  11. using slotted spoon , transfer to paper towels to drain
  12. sprinkle with more salt and serve hot
