DEEP-FRIED GREEN BEANS
Have a tough time getting the young ones to eat vegetables? Well they are sure to eat this fun and quick green bean dish. You can use them as a side or appetizer!!! I got this recipe from my sister-in-law that has 3 kids who aren't fond of veggies!

- Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; set aside. Pour the buttermilk into a shallow dish.
- Thread the green beans onto toothpicks, making bundles of about 5 green beans each. Dip the green bean bundles into the buttermilk, then into the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour. Fry in the hot oil until the flour turns golden brown, about 4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate, and serve hot.

Steps:
- Bring a pot of water to a boil; cook beans in boiling water until bright green, about 2 minutes. Immediately transfer green beans to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and dry beans with paper towels.
- Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Pour flour into a bowl. Whisk egg in a separate bowl. Pour bread crumbs into a third bowl.
- Coat green beans with flour; transfer to beaten egg and coat evenly. Press coated green beans into bread crumbs.
- Fry breaded green beans, working in batches, in the hot oil until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer fried beans to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

- Toss 1 pound leftover cooked or raw green beans with 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper and 1 cup buttermilk; soak for 15 minutes. Season 1 cup cornmeal with salt and cayenne. Dredge the green beans in the cornmeal, then deep-fry in 2 inches of 375 vegetable oil until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes.

- 1. In a shallow dish combine all dry ingredients, set aside. In another shallow dish combine beer or buttermilk and whisk in the egg. Dredge green beens beans in dry mixture, then wet mixture, then back to the dry mixture. Place beans into the hot oil, fry until golden brown, about 1-2-minutes. Remove to metal strainer then to paper towel lined baking sheet(helps keep the green beans from getting soggy). In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard and salt to taste. Serve the beans with the creamy dipping sauce!

- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- In another medium bowl, stir together 1 1/2 cups water, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and vinegar. In a small bowl whisk together egg and baking powder. Whisk into water mixture.
- Pour 2 inches of oil into a Dutch oven. Heat between 350-375 degrees.
- In batches, dip green beans in egg mixture and then dredge in flour mixture. Dredge in egg mixture a second time and then in flour mixture a second time.
- Fry beans for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown. Season to taste with salt and serve with Ranch dressing.

- Precook the green beans by boiling for about 5 minutes
- Drain from water
- Add the egg and milk together in a bowl and whisk
- Mix the bread crumbs, cornmeal, flour and seasonings and add to a plate
- Dip the green beans into the milk / egg mixture and then dredge into the bread crumbs and coat thoroughly
- Add to hot oil and fry until browned {do not crowd the skillet}
- Drain on paper towels
- Serve hot with sauce

- Heat oil to 350 degrees.
- Deep fry long beans, in batches, until they are wrinkled, 3 to 4 minutes. Heat 1 tablespoon of canola oil in a wok. Add ginger, garlic and chilies and quickly stir-fry. Remove the chilies. Add the beans back into the wok and mix with soy sauce, rice wine and sesame oil. Check for seasoning and salt and pepper as needed.

My dh has been on a quest to find a recipe for deep fried green beans. I am posting both of the recipes I have found on here so I do not loose them. Enjoy!

Steps:
- Cook beans in large pot of boiling salted water until crisp-tender, about 2 minutes.
- Drain.
- Cool in bowl of ice water.
- Drain again.
- Heat oil in deep fryer or large saucepan over medium-high heat to 350°F
- Combine flour, 3/4 cup water, eggs, baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and pepper in large bowl; whisk until smooth batter forms.
- Dip 6 beans at a time into batter; shake off excess.
- Add to hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4 minutes per batch.
- Using slotted spoon, transfer to paper towels to drain.
- Sprinkle with more salt and serve hot.

- Heat oil until hot. Test by putting one drop of your batter inside, if it fries immediately then it is ready.
- Wash and cut off ends of green beans. Lay on paper towels and roll up to dry outsides off so batter will stick.
- Use a fork and dip green beans into batter and put in oil when hot, turn over when lightly browned. Put on paper towels to absorb excess oil when done. Put a pinch of seasoned salt on and serve!
