Double Lemon Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. butter
  2. sugar
  3. all-purpose flour
  4. baking powder
  5. salt
  6. lemon juice
  7. lemon peel
  8. eggs
  9. powdered sugar

Steps:

  1. heat oven to 350f
  2. combine all crust ingredients in small mixer bowl
  3. beat at medium speed , scraping bowl often , until well mixed
  4. press into greased 8 or 9-inch square baking pan
  5. bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until edges are lightly browned
  6. meanwhile , combine all filling ingredients in same mixer bowl
  7. beat at medium speed until well mixed
  8. pour filling over hot , partially baked crust
  9. continue baking for 17 to 20 minutes or until top is light golden brown
  10. sprinkle with powdered sugar
  11. cool completely
  12. cut into bars
  13. lightly grease foil
  14. bake as directed above
  15. lift out foil and bars from pan
  16. peel foil from sides of bars
  17. cut into bars
