BAKED CHICKEN WITH FRENCH ONION SOUP
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil and onion soup together.
- Pour 2/3 of the mixture over chicken.
- In a separate bowl, toss green beans in remaining mixture.
- Place chicken breasts in a 9X13 baking dish.
- Place green beans all around chicken.
- Bake in oven for 30 minutes.

HOMEMADE BEEF DRY ONION SOUP MIX
I keep jars of Orrington Farms Broth Bases on hand, which taste better than granules and canned broths, and are much cheaper. You get 56 cups of broth per Orrington jar (about $3.50 per jar), compared to $1.00 per can of Swanson's canned broth. This recipe I made with their beef broth base, which contains little salt and no msg. I don't know how granules will work, as they are salty, but don't use bullion cubes. This recipe yields the equivalent of 2 boxes or 4 packages (cost $3.20) and it costs about $1.50.

- To make soup: Stir together 5 tablespoons of this mix and 4 cups water. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
- To make onion dip: Combine 5 tablespoons of this mix with 16 ounces sour cream.
