DRUNK DOGS

This recipe has been passed around our family for years. I do not know the origin, but our family loves it. It is now a holiday tradition. It's simple and quick, made with cut up hot dogs or cocktail wieners, brown sugar, whiskey, and tangy ketchup! Serve these little dogs with toothpicks.

  • 1 pound cocktail wieners

DRUNKEN DOGS

These dogs are made with beer and brown sugar, but are always a big hit with our friends and family. They should simmer on the stove for at least 60 minutes. We usually put them in a slow cooker when serving to keep them hot. Use toothpicks to spear these little bit-sized delights.

PHIL'S DRUNKEN KIELBASA

This is a great recipe that is a hit at all of our family parties. My dad has been making it for years. I recommend making it a couple of days in advance so the kielbasa "marinates" for a while. Refrigerate and then reheat when needed. Warning- that when refrigerated the sauce congeals a bit and looks pretty unappetizing. Once heated it goes back to normal and is delicious!

Recipe From food.com

Provided by mebrine

Time 1h15m

Yield 12-15 serving(s)

Steps:

  • Cook the kielbasa using your preferred method to cook off some of the fat.
  • Cut the kielbasa on the diagonal in 1/2"-1" slices.
  • Put the kielbasa into large pot on stove top.
  • Add the remaining ingredients (ketchup, brown sugar, Jack Daniels).
  • Heat on medium heat 1/2 hour to 45 minutes until sauce has thinned out and kielbasa is piping hot.
  • Serve with toothpicks and enjoy!
