A simple and easy teriyaki salmon recipe that will be on repeat during grilling season.

1/2 cup brown sugar
3 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tsp ginger (minced)
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp rice wine (sake)
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup green onion (chopped)
2 lb king salmon fillets
2 tsp corn starch

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and rice wine. Reserve 1/2 cup and set aside into a small saucepan.
  • In the bowl with the larger amount of the marinade add olive oil and chopped green onion.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a large zip-lock bag and pour the marinade into the bag. Close tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Mix 2 tsp corn starch with 1 tsp water. Add the dissolved corn starch to the reserved 1/2 cup of the soy sauce mixture. cook on medium high heat until it begins to thicken into a glaze (about 10 minutes).
  • Fire up the grill on medium heat and spray generously with nonstick spray. Cook the marinated salmon fillets about 6 minutes on each side. Cook time may vary depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets.
  • Once the salmon is cooked through completely, remove from the grill and brush the glaze on top. Serve hot.

5 -6 salmon steaks
1 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon mustard powder

Steps:

  • In a bowl mix/whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar and mustard powder.
  • Place the salmon steaks in a glass dish (I use an 8x8-inch glass baking dish).
  • Pour the marinade over the salmon.
  • Cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for minimum 1-1/2 hours, turning the steaks occasionally.
  • Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on how thick the steaks are.
  • Brushing with marinade as they cook.

3/4 cup reduced-sodium teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup maple syrup
4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, whisk teriyaki sauce and syrup. Pour 1 cup marinade into a large resealable plastic bag. Add salmon; seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate 15 minutes. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade., Drain salmon, discarding marinade in bag. Moisten a paper towel with cooking oil; using long-handled tongs, rub on grill rack to coat lightly., Place salmon on grill rack, skin side down. Grill, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat 8-12 minutes or until fish just begins to flake easily with a fork, basting frequently with reserved marinade. I don't really know where I got this recipe, but it is the only way we will cook Salmon anymore! Everytime I serve it people rave and beg for the recipe. The cooking times are not exact as I always just watch it depending on the thickness of the salmon steaks, or salmon fillet.

3 -4 salmon steaks or 3 -4 salmon fillets
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons minced garlic

  • Combine all ingredients and pour over salmon in a shallow baking dish.

  • Whisk teriyaki sauce, apple juice, brown sugar, vinegar, pepper, and garlic together in a small bowl.

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.

¼ cup sesame oil
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar, or more to taste
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
4 (6 ounce) salmon steaks

Steps:

  • Mix sesame oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame seeds, ground mustard, ginger, and garlic powder in a small saucepan over low heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Set aside 1/2 cup of marinade for basting.
  • Pour remaining marinade into a resealable plastic bag and place salmon into the marinade. Squeeze air out of the bag, seal, and marinate the salmon steaks for at least 1 hour (2 hours for better flavor). Drain and discard used marinade.
