1 loaf frozen bread dough
0.5 (3 ounce) package butterscotch pudding, dry not instant
cinnamon, to taste
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup margarine
nuts

Steps:

  • Thaw frozen bread.
  • Butter deep pan and sprinkle with nuts.
  • Cut dough into 18 balls and place in pan.
  • Sprinkle with butterscotch pudding. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Melt brown sugar with margarine.
  • Drizzle over rolls.
  • Let raise until very light.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minute.

2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
4 cups Original Bisquick
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 400°F. Mix pecans, 2/3 cup brown sugar, the corn syrup, and 1/4 cup butter in rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches; spread to cover the bottom of pan. Set aside. Stir Bisquick and milk until dough forms; beat 20 strokes. Turn onto surface dusted with Bisquick. Gently roll in Bisquick. Shape into ball. Knead 10 times. Roll dough into 15x9-inch rectangle. Spread 2 tablespoons butter over dough. mix 1/2 cup brown sugar and the cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Roll up dough tightly, beginning at 15 inch side. Pinch edge of dough into roll to seal. Cut into twelve 1 1/4 inch slices. Arrange with cut sides down on mixture in pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately turn rolls upside down on heat proof platform. I used a cookie sheet. Serve warm.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400.
  • Stir pecans, 2/3 cup brown sugar, the corn syrup and 2 tablespoons melted margarine in rectangular pan, 13X9X2 inches; spread evenly.
  • Stir Bisquick and milk until dough forms; beat 20 strokes.
  • Place on surface dusted with Bisquick; gently roll in Bisquick to coat.
  • Shape into ball; knead 10 times.
  • Roll dough into 15X9 inch rectangle.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons softened margarine over dough.

2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
1 cup warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
2 large eggs, room temperature
5 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
5 cups all-purpose flour
CARAMEL SAUCE:
1 cup butter, cubed
2 cups packed brown sugar
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped pecans
FILLING:
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add the eggs, butter, sugar, salt and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Meanwhile, for sauce, melt butter in a large saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and corn syrup. Boil over medium heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with pecans; set aside., Punch the dough down. Turn onto a floured surface. Roll into a 17x15-in. rectangle. Spread butter to within 1/2 in. of edges. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal., Cut into 15 slices. Place cut side down over caramel sauce. Cover; let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Bake at 350° until golden brown, 30-35 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes; invert onto a serving platter.

Here is an easy, last minute, caramel roll recipe that makes a great morning treat for breakfast or brunch. We really like it for Christmas or Easter mornings or when we have unexpected company.

1 cup chopped pecans (or halves)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 (10 ounce) packages pillsbury refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a buttered 9x13 baking dish, sprinkle the pecans. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the pecans. Pour whipping cream over the brown sugar.
  • Cut each of the biscuits into quarters. Place each biscuit quarter into the pan on top of the brown sugar/cream mixture and press down lightly.
  • Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and immediately (and carefully) turn onto a large serving plate or platter and serve.
  • Note: I have also used the Country Style or Grands Flaky Layers biscuits successfully in this recipe.
