EASY CHEESE DREAMS

Easy Cheese Dreams image

These are perfect for a snack or a side to a bowl of soup! I used to make them with a crusty Italian or French loaf .......... but now I use sour dough or multi grain.

Number Of Ingredients 3

4 slices crusty bread (thick slices)
8 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced (medium or old)
4 slices bacon

  • Spread butter or margarine on each slice of bread, add slices of cheese and top with 2 pieces of cooked bacon.
  • Place cheese dreams on a baking sheet & place under the broiler until cheese melts (watch carefully), about 2 minutes.

CHEESE DREAMS

I make these all the time as appetizers or to accompany a salad. Make plenty, one is never enough! I don't really measure the ingredients. I make these with the "eyeball it" method.

SOUTHERN CHERRY YUM YUM

Southern Cherry Yum Yum image

My mother made this a lot when I was growing up. We lost the recipe for a while but found it when we were going through some old things of hers. I made it and it was just as good as I remembered. It is like a light, layered cherry cheesecake. Cooking time includes chill time. I am not sure of the exact ounces on a Dream whip packet, what the recipe calls for is 1 packet from the 2 packet box of Dream Whip.

  • Grate the frozen butter into the flour. Stir with a wooden spoon so that the butter is coated in flour and dispersed throughout the mixture. (Tip – if you don’t want to grate the butter, you can just cut in diced, chilled butter with a pastry cutter until the butter is the size of small peas and the mixture resembles coarse meal).
