1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons curry powder
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root
1 ½ pounds skinless chicken breasts
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon sriracha sauce, or to taste

Steps:

  • Combine yogurt, tomato paste, onion, garlic, curry powder, ginger, salt, and pepper in the slow cooker. Add chicken breasts and mix with yogurt sauce.
  • Cook on Low until chicken is tender and cooked through, about 8 hours. Shred with 2 forks.

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle chile sauce
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
¼ cup molasses
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 drops hot pepper sauce
1 tablespoon salsa
2 ½ teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Place chicken in slow cooker. In a medium bowl combine the chile sauce, lemon juice, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, salsa, chili powder, garlic powder and salt. Mix together and pour mixture over chicken.
  • Cook in slow cooker on Medium Low setting for 5 hours.

2 tablespoons curry powder
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon ground cumin
3/4 cup water
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs (about 10)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup Greek yogurt, plain whole-milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 scallions, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • In a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker, whisk together the tomato paste, garlic, curry powder, ginger, cumin, and water.
  • Add the onion and stir to combine. Place the chicken on top and season with 1 teaspoon salt and the pepper.
  • Cover and cook until the chicken is tender, on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Just before serving, add the yogurt and ½ teaspoon salt to the chicken and stir to combine.
  • Serve with rice or pasta and sprinkle with the scallions.

1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite size pieces
1 small onion, very finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, fresh grated
2 teaspoons curry powder
2 tablespoons garam masala
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (14 ounce) can coconut milk, full fat
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
4 tablespoons heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine coconut milk, Greek yogurt, and heavy cream. Stir in tomato paste, garlic, ginger, and all the spices.
  • Grease the inside of the Crock-Pot with olive oil.
  • Add chopped onion at the bottom, then chicken pieces, and then pour coconut milk mixture over it. Add butter in dollops, cover with a lid, and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours.
  • When ready, give a good stir, adjust seasoning and serve!

  • In a small bowl, stir together the allspice, oregano, salt, garlic powder, cinnamon, and cayenne. Set aside.
  • Place the yogurt and lemon juice in the bottom of a shallow baking dish. Add half of the spice mixture (reserve the second half) and stir to combine. Add the chicken thighs and gently turn to coat in the yogurt mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
  • Coat the bottom of a 5 or 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Add the chicken and all of the yogurt marinade. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  • With a fork or slotted spoon, transfer the chicken to a large bowl (discard the cooking liquid). Shred the chicken with two forks, then sprinkle the remaining spice mixture over the top. Stir to coat with the reserved spices.
