CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE I
This is made just like a traditional pecan pie, with the addition of chocolate chips. It is very fudgy. It is always the first dessert to go at our family's Thanksgiving!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Beat eggs, sugar, salt, margarine, and syrup with hand beater. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour mixture into pie shell.
- Bake until set, 40 to 50 minutes. Cool.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line your pie pan with you pie crust.
- Add the chocolate chips and pecans to your pie crust.
- In a large bowl whisk together the eggs, butter, corn syrup, sugar and vanilla extract then pour it over the pecans and chocolate and bake for 35-40 minutes or until pie is set.
- Cool pie on a wire rack until completely cooled before serving.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Place cookie sheet in the oven to preheat it.
- In a bowl beat together corn syrup, sugar, margarine, vanilla and eggs.
- In the bottom of the pie crust, arrange pecans as neatly as you can and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of them.
- Pour syrup mixture on top slowly so as not to disturb the pecans to much or move the chips much.
- Place the pie on the preheated cookie sheet bake for about 1 hour checking after 45 minutes since ovens vary.
- Pie is done when a deep golden brown and filling is "set".
- Remove from oven and cool completely!
- Store in refrigerator.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F In a medium bowl, beat eggs slightly with a wire wisk. Stir in sugar, corn syrup, butter and vanilla, until blended. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour mixture into pie crust. Protect exposed crust of pie with strip of tin foil. Bake 55 to 60 minutes, but check at 50 minutes as oven temperatures vary. Place a sheet of foil on pie if the pecans begin to over-brown. Pie is done when knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean.

Another oldie that I had forgotten about and am posting here for safe-keeping. It makes a nice change of pace from regular pecan pie.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Melt margarine with chocolate squares.
- In a large bowl, stir together eggs, corn syrup, sugar, chocolate mixture, and vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie shell.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edges comes out clean. Cool and serve.
