Perfect Broiled Shrimp (Fast & Easy!) image

Broiled shrimp is one of the best ways to cook it! It's easy and comes out juicy and perfectly seasoned. Add breading for an irresistible crunch!

1 pound large shrimp, deveined (tail on or off)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt*
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional; homemade* or plain purchased breadcrumbs)
Lemon wedges
Chopped parsley or cilantro, for garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat the broiler.
  • If frozen, thaw the shrimp.
  • Pat the shrimp dry.
  • Mince the garlic. In a medium bowl, toss with the shrimp with the olive oil, garlic, oregano, onion powder, and kosher salt*. Toss until fully combined. If using breadcrumbs, add them and toss until all shrimp are coated.
  • Place the shrimp on a baking sheet in an even layer. (You can add a few additional pinches of breadcrumbs if there were places where they did not stick to the shrimp.) Place the baking sheet in the oven and broil until juicy and opaque, about 3 to 6 minutes, until juicy and opaque, rotating the tray as necessary for even cooking.
  • Spritz with fresh lemon juice from lemon wedges, sprinkle with chopped parsley or cilantro, and serve immediately.

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler.
  • Put shrimp in lg. bowl
  • Add all other ingredients.
  • Toss well to coat shrimp.
  • Place on shallow baking sheet.
  • Broil 7 in from heat for about 6-7 min, turning once.
  • Serve with sauce from pan.
  • Add a little butter if you like.

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
½ lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
¼ teaspoon white sugar
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
salt to taste
1 pound shrimp, shelled and deveined

Steps:

  • Combine olive oil, lemon juice, seafood seasoning, sugar, cayenne, and salt in a small bowl; stir until marinade is well mixed.
  • Thread shrimp on metal skewers and pat dry. Brush with marinade and refrigerate.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Cook shrimp on the hot grill until the edges begin to turn white, 1 to 2 minutes. Turn and continue grilling until shrimp is white and no longer translucent, 1 to 2 minutes longer. Serve warm.

2 tablespoons coconut flour
1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3/4 cup full-fat coconut milk
1 1/2 tablespoons coconut aminos
1 pound wild-caught shrimp

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. In a shallow bowl, whisk together coconut flour, shredded coconut, garlic and onion powders, salt, and pepper. In another shallow bowl, whisk together the coconut milk and coconut aminos.
  • Dip each shrimp into the liquid mixture, and then into the dry mixture to coat.
  • Arrange in a single layer in a baking dish. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. For extra crispiness, remove the pan and set the oven to broil.
  • Broil the shrimp for 4 to 5 minutes.

This is delicious dipped in cocktail sauce or served over rice pilaf. In a pinch, I've also made this with frozen precooked, quick thawed shrimp: just skip step 11, sprinkle on bread crumbs and broil for 3-4 minutes without flipping (shrimp will not be as tender using this method, but still tasty). Note: Make sure your Worcestershire sauce is gluten free.

1 lb raw medium tail on shrimp
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Old Bay Seasoning
1 slice gluten free bread
1/4 cup catsup
horseradish

Steps:

  • Rinse shrimp in colander, drain well and pat dry.
  • Set oven to broil.
  • Microwave butter in a small bowl for 20 seconds or until just melted. Add olive oil, Worcestershire and 1 tsp lemon juice.
  • Use a garlic press to crush garlic and stir into mixture.
  • Pour into a 1 quart zip lock baggie.
  • Add shrimp, close bag, toss to coat and let stand for several minutes.
  • If serving with cocktail sauce: In a separate bowl mix catsup, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp Worcestershire and horseradish to taste. Set aside.
  • Tear bread into pieces and put in mini chopper. Add a dash of Old Bay seasoning and pulse until bread crumbs are fine.
  • Place shrimp in a single layer on a foil lined cookie sheet.
  • Broil seven inches from heat for 3 minutes.
  • Flip shrimp over and sprinkle on bread crumbs.
  • Broil for 3-4 minutes, until shrimp is pink and crumbs are golden brown.
