FRENCH QUARTER SHRIMP CREOLE

this is a quick version of the real thing.

Time: 25 minutes

Number Of Ingredients: 8

Ingredients: onion,green bell pepper,celery,garlic clove,stewed tomatoes,cayenne pepper sauce,medium shrimp,cooked rice

Steps:

  1. melt 2 tablespoons butter in medium skillet
  2. blend in 2 tablespoons flour
  3. add onion , celery , bell pepper and garlic
  4. cook and stir over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender and flour mixture is lightly golden
  5. stir in tomatoes and hot sauce
  6. heat to boiling
  7. reduce heat to medium-low
  8. cook , uncovered , 5 minutes or until slightly thickened
  9. stir occasionally
  10. add shrimp
  11. cook 5 minutes or just until shrimp are pink
  12. serve over rice
  13. garnish with chopped parsley , if desired
